✔️ Are you engaged? I am and I didn't realize that I'd have so many people looking at my hands, not to mention all the close-up photos taken! I was super self conscious in the beginning. Don't be like me: My advice? Protect and prep your hands for those big moments. Here are some beauty tips to keep your 💅🏼 hands looking young! 1. Exfoliate your hands (optional). 💭 Do not do this if your hands are severely dry or chapped. This is more for if you have relatively healthy hands that just look a bit dull. 💭 Do this up to four times a week, being sure to moisturize immediately afterwards. 💔 2. Don’t use acetone-based nail polish remover. 💭Research has shown that acetone strips the nails and causes them to become brittle. It may also irritate the skin of your hands. 3. In dry heat be sure to use a good non-oily lotion to keep your hands hydrated. 4. Keep a good-quality moisturizer close-by at all times. 💭 This will help you remember to use it more often. For instance, keep one in your bag, one at your desk, and one at your bedside. 5. Know how to wash your hands. Use warm — not hot — water and a mild cleanser to wash your hands. Avoid soaps that contain fragrances, preservatives, and sulphates, which are drying. 💭 A mild, moisturizing, soap-free cleanser would be ideal. ・・・ Pictured: The first time I had my hands photographed after getting engaged to my fiancé Nathan! 💍 📸 Photography by @photosbyaaronchao @styledpopupseries with @quiannamariephotography 🌼 Flowers: @dubonfloraldesign Dress: @bcbgmaxazria ✨ ✨ @theknot @weddingwire @weddingtips #gilroywedding #styledpopupseries #weddingphotography #bridetobe #eastbaymua #morganhillbride #morganhillwedding (at Kirigin Cellars)
