Overseas, when they couldn’t sleep, they’d talk about anything and everything. Small little nonsense things just to take their minds off of what was going on outside.

Neither of them can answer that question, because they don’t remember. All they remember is that they went out drinking a couple days after Easter and then, when Lucius woke up on her couch, there was a microwave full of melted peeps. He promised Nell he’d buy her a new one (and never did).

When they came back from the war, Amelia spent a chunk of time at Lucius’s place until she could get on her own two feet. It wasn’t the best time for her, what with Lucius spending most of him time making up for lost time with Ruby, and, feeling a little lonely, she found a stray cat on her way home one night and took it back to their place. Despite Lucius’s protests, two against one, the cat stayed. The cat hid in various places around the house and, more than a couple times, Amelia was woken up to Lucius barking from the bed room, 'Melia! Get your cat!

Amelia is way more of a social media butterfly than Lucius is and will occasionally take vines of him snoring, drunkenly navigating, or saying something incredibly redneck. Lucius has no idea what Vine is, but he’s found it amusing enough that he’ll get involved and make one with her when she requests.

Lucius. Without a doubt. When he gets angry, another phone dies. Amelia has tried to tell him that phones aren’t toys, but it doesn’t work. For a while, he donated to Gecko-Chatterly charity the babies got to have his busted phones as their “play” phones.

SCREAMS NEITHER NO ONE DIES. Okay but honestly probably Amelia seeing as she’s got all sorts of health issues and shit but ahahaha feelings Lucius basically wouldn’t know what to do with himself it hurts.

Neither? I think they’re both milk drinkers. Lucius is the kind of adult male who would drink a full glass of milk with dinner because why not.

They both have their own things that they have delusions about, but Lucius is incredibly good at lying to himself and is convinced that he’s good at plenty things that he’s not good at.

When it comes to shared bed space, it’s generally an I need a human security blanket move and neither is incredibly quick to kick the other out. Lucius is usually the first to get kicked out, however, because he sleeps like a horse and Amelia needs to put on her face.

Amelia. Lucius still types by poking two fingers at the keyboard. It’s that bad.

Who steals french fries off the other’s plate?

They both do. That is, if Amelia is eating this week. However, when she’s drunk and has the munchies and is inclined to eat anything, she’ll steal fries. Lucius, on the other hand, has no qualms about stealing her food, especially if she’s doing nothing but “bird picking.”

Who jokingly moves in for the kiss when someone asks if they’re a couple?

This would have to be Amelia, Lucius is afraid of Nell needs to be more drunk.

Who has to bust or bail the other out of jail?

Amelia is the first (and only) person on Lucius’s list to call if he’s been in a bar brawl and needs an out. Otherwise, he’d rather sit it out for the night than face Ruby and/or sure humiliation. 

Who gives the other advice/comfort about dating issues?

They both do? Seeing as they’re gal pals, Lucius is the one that Amelia will go to if she needs advice (not that he gives any good advice, but he’ll at least remind her she’s pretty and has a lot of good qualities and fuck everyone else, who do you need me to beat up?). Amelia is the person Lucius goes to if he needs advice, everything from what to wear to a dinner date to what to get for Christmas to how to tell Ruby in a nice way that oral sex should happen more than once a year on his birthday.

Who shamelessly cheats at games by reaching over to cover the other’s eyes?

Amelia. And Lucius lets her, even if he’ll bitch about it, because as competitive as he is, he’s also a fucking push over when it comes to her. On the other hand, if Amelia can tell Lucius is having a bad day or is in a grumpy mood, she’ll throw him a win just because she knows how much it’ll cheer him up.

Who immediately calls dibs on the top bunk?

They both call dibs, then have to engage in a violent round of rock paper scissors.

Amelia starts, but Lucius will not stop until he’s victorious. It’s not a win until the other person is calling uncle, after all.

Lucius, as a way to steer away men and women he deems “unworthy.” Which is, more or less, all of the times he’s tried to wingman for her. Not a very good wingman, but he does get them nice and drunk, so there’s that.

Consider Lucius is usually the origin of the fight, probably Lucius? Just because he’s good at crawling back with his tail between his legs. 

Who is the stubborn one?

They’re both pretty bullheaded, which makes them a good team. But Lucius will cave to Amelia’s whims 99% of the time.

Do they cuddle?

It’s called “body heat.” It gets damn cold at night in Afghanistan. Has nothing to do with Amelia being a snuggle bear. Nope.

Do they tell each other everything? If not, what do they keep from one another?

Lucius tells Amelia everything except the parts of him that he thinks will upset her. Amelia tells him everything except things she think will set him off and isolate him even further  She also doesn’t tell him details which are sacred to her and Nell. 

Who usually brings the junk food when one is upset?

Amelia. Hands down. Bakes the best comfort food.

Do they hold hands?

Not quite. The closest they get is an arm-over-shoulder or overly-protective-hand-on-back.

How comfortable are they with one another?

Very. They’ve been through it with one another. On the same token, their trials and tribulations have put up occasional walls between the two. Talking to Lucius can be like walking on hot coals from time to time and Amelia knows where to step and where not to step.

Despite the fact that they look nothing alike, Lucius has been mistaken for the “protective older brother” by the way he hovers if someone starts hitting on Amelia at a bar.
