The Black Woman’s Guide to the perfect at-home purple manicure : :
Step 1️⃣: Remove any old nail polish with The Remover from D.I.D.
Step 2️⃣: Wash hands with a moisturizing soap such as the Frankincense & Myrrh infused Raw Shea Butter Bar from Nubian Heritage, the Triple Milled African Bar Soap from Alaffia, the Shea Moisture Community Commerce Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Shea Butter Soap, or Mrs. Meyers’ Lemon Verbena Hand Soap.
Step 3️⃣: Dry hands and use a cuticle oil (I recommend either California Magic’s or SuperNail Professional’s!) directly on the nail region or via a 5 - 15 min. warm water soak.
Step 4️⃣: Apply a base coat. Pictured is Breukelen’s 2-in-1 Base/Top Coat. Right now, I’m really loving 2 coats of Seche Vite’s Base Coat, but I plan on trying this one out soon!
Step 5️⃣: Polish time! Pictured are the following polishes {L to R, T to B}➡️Sorry Not Sorry & Sweater Weather; Happy Wife, Happy Life & I’m So Over Him; and Do it B.I.G. & Real Tawk.
Step 6️⃣: Let dry and apply a coat or two of a top coat such as Polish My Life’s Le Top Coat (or reapply a 2 in 1 like Breukelen’s!) and don’t forget to moisturize your cuticles!!
Stay tuned for my post with more black owned purple nail polishes soon! 😄💜
