Sorry for the delayed update on Ginger's vet trip. Vet doesn't think she has an abscess because the direction of the bulging eye is kind of out and backwards rather than straight out front which indicates infection in tissue surrounding eye rather than behind the eye or in teeth roots, so I'm hopeful in one sense. She's on antibiotics and pain relief / anti inflammatory. But she's really really struggling to eat which makes me less hopeful. She is eating super slow and only limited things, grass being the main thing. So I've separated her so she can have a big supply of grass without the others stealing it. You can see they're rather keen to break in!!! And you can see how slow she's eating. She'd normally stuff a big lot of grass in at once but she's having to carefully eat it one or two strands at a time. She'd lost a fair bit of weight in just two days but she's up again a bit now after a couple of syringe feeds and a constant supply of grass and posh hay. She won't eat veg other than lettuce or dandies, she won't eat nuggets, even if I soften them with warm water. This is all very worrying as teeth issues are not something she or I want to have to deal with. She already had a chin abscess surgically removed earlier this year. Come on baby girl, get better. 💕 #GingerGirlPig #ThePiglingtons #PiglingtonCottage #blindguineapig #gingerguineapig #gingerpig #cavysavvyvet #guineapigherd #letmein
