Ginovan: Come on, Lo. Let us help you get a bigger place. There's barely any room here, where are you going to fit the new baby?
Yellow: We'll sort it out Ginovan, thank you.
Ginovan: That baby will be taking over your bed and before you know it you're not going to have a single moment alone with your wife to get started on baby number five.
Yellow: Five!? No. Donna and I have discussed this. After this one is born, we're done.
Ginovan: My dog, you've gotta think BIG.
Yellow: Well maybe that's your goal, but-
Ginovan: Hell yeah, brother. Our goal? Ten.
Yellow: TEN? Yikes! That's a lot of little Sparrows.

Ginovan Sparrow
Ginovan Sparrow actually comes from a legacy that I was working on in the Sims 3 before I even started writing My Darling (over 10 years ago! 😳) His history is a bit mysterious. He’s an only child, but comes from a big family with lots of cousins and other kids (much like the Sparrow-Darling dynamic) so it’s not surprising he wanted to raise his (10) kids in a similar fashion.
When Ginovan was about 15, he and his aunt Peridot woke up in Moonlight Falls with nothing but the clothes on their backs and each other. He had only a faint recollection of his life prior, unlike his Aunt who remembered every horrible detail vividly. Peridot spared him the grisly details but told him just enough for him to know that he lost a large chunk of his family in a horrific and traumatic event. Peridot went on to raise him the best she could for the remainder of his teen years.
His aunt Peridot eventually went on to have a child of her own, a baby fairy she named Tallulah. Ginovan played a huge role in raising the tiny magical baby 🥺
Ginovan had the “supernatural fan” trait in the sims 3, and that extended to his love life as well. He became quite the ladies man back in his hay day, but more specifically, he had a preference for supernatural ladies of all kinds. He even had a steamy but short-lived romance with Bianca Crumplebottom 👀 While it is true that he fell for Birdie before he even knew she was half-imaginary, it was certainly a bonus. And with a trait like that, it's no surprise he took such a liking to the Darlings.
Ginovan wanted to make sure that his house was the perfect utopia for all of his kids to hunker down in if by chance a zombie apocalypse were to occur. This fear may somehow be connected to fact 2... 😬
Thank you for the ask @queeniecook! I adore you back 😍
Yellow: What Uncle Ginovan meant to say, is that we were both hoping to have a talk with you.
Coraleye: Um, ok? About?
Yellow: Ginovan, go ahead.
Ginovan: Right, so um... Our side of the family, are going through quite a bit of pressure right now. With the spellcasters not being able to use magic, and Starling's busy job, and Birdie's cruise getting cancelled... It's been a lot to handle. We love you very much, but we think it might be better if uh, well, both sides of the family, uh... spend some time apart.
Coraleye: Oh um...ok? If you think that's best, I suppose. This seems sudden, though. How did all of this come up?
Ginovan: Well, I don't know the details, myself. But I think they might be better left unsaid in this case. I don't want to try to speak for anybody else. When the time comes, they'll talk to you when they're ready.
Coraleye: Okay, did I do something wrong or something? I'm starting to get the feeling that this might have something to do with me specifically, and not the whole family?
Ginovan: Well...
Yellow: Well hold on a minute, now... Coraleye, honey... I don't want you to think any of this is your fault. This is someone else's issues that they'll need to work through. You're absolutely fine and dandy.
Ginvoan: It won't be this way forever, kiddo. Just until things get worked out.
Coraleye: What about Winterfest? The elders have been planning a huge traditional spellcaster Winterfest party... Even Grandma Kirsten is agreeing to help plan it, and she's anti-magic.
Birdie: These are my twins, Starling and Raven. They didn't get my signature scarlet red hair but they still look enough like me. Plus, there's always hair dye if that's the path they choose!
Birdie: And this is my husband, Ginovan. I met him at my first apartment building. He's an explorer who travels the world searching for all things supernatural.
Ginovan: It's a pleasure to meet you all. I've heard all the stories, and I must say your lives are so fascinating.
Yellow: Likewise, and yes it's been quite the journey. I'd love to sit with you sometime, Ginovan, and hear the stories of your travels as well. So Birdie, I'm dying to know... We needed to resurrect a scientist and his family to end up here. How did you manage to find yourself in this universe?
Birdie: Well I don't have any trouble travelling back and forth throughout universes, Lo. The answer to your question is the same reason Ginovan fell for me: I'm half imaginary.
