Has anyone considered if Hinowa and Hosen are Hades and Persephone references ? This has just entered my mind and I'm like hold on now because you have the king of the underworld who rules through power and fear, and a woman he has bound to him named after the sun who brings light to the bleak place around her? Pretty spot on even if not conscious from Sorachi.

Thinking about Kamui says he doesn't like hurting women because they can give birth to strong fighters -- but I also feel like it's because the male role models in his life have hurt the ones close to them so much, being his dad and Hosen. He wants so much to not do things their way.

Kankou/Kouka and Hinowa/Housen look like two completely different relationships but the common thread is def both women being caged in different senses and it's no wonder bro doesn't wanna be anything like them.
