Postcards from our summer break?
As the new academic year gets started this week, we’re probably all looking back at our socially distanced summer and I’m sure you (like us) didn’t send or receive the usual amount of vacation postcards. Luckily, Horace R. Hansen is here to help!
These postcards come from our Horace R. Hansen Collection and were probably collected by Hansen some time in the summer or fall of 1945. They are all from Bavaria and correspond to photographs we have of a time when Hansen took some R&R in the Bavarian Alps. A few of them have the Gipfelstation postmark so if Hansen himself didn’t ascend 2966m peak to get it, another GI buddy must have. Keep checking back for more Horace R.
