Hello, my Eager Beaver,

I know we were texting just a minute ago, but I couldn’t stop myself from writing you a letter. You know I like doing things this way. A small piece of paper can stay with you even when I’m not around — kind of like me, right now.

I know I say this a hundred times a day, but I’ll say it again anyway: I miss you.

The past couple of days have been a total mess, honestly. Remember how pouty I got every time you called me clumsy? Well… I’m pretty sure I’m twice as clumsy when you’re not here. I admit it. You can use it against me later.

Princess Nokia - Perion Blood

Warning! The video is flashing turquoise and red.

Hurts me to take one song out of the context that is Girls album. There is a drama arch. But maybe this song, somewhere in the middle of the album, shows the transition from anger to love. Just listened this while reading the lyrics, I missed a lot of things when I just listened it. And I cried at the end. Great album, great song, I wish more people find Princess Nokia.

2. PinkPantheress - Ophelia

I am a big fan of songs where the melody, production and singing are in a stark contrast with the lyrics. I listened this album many times as a background music and then suddenly, "Huh? What the fuck is she singing about?". Her lyrics are clever stories, double meanings and dark themes.

3. Nessa Barrett - P*RNSTAR

Warning: There is flashing in this too, what is with these lyric videos.

I love naughty songs, they comfort me in this shitty world. There are many songs about "I am hot, watch me", but not many where a girl sing "I want to watch you entertain". I saw her concert last summer, hypnotizing. I was in places hours after the gig.

4. Heize - I don't lie (feat. Giriboy)

Heize is one of my favorite singer-songwriters and I listen to her music on my mental health walks. And when Giriboy features, it's guaranteed to be a good song. They recently made an EP together, but this is older song. The melody in the chorus is amazing.

5. Close Your Eyes - X

Pretty normie stuff in our household last night. I wanted to spend time in a same room with my wife, she watched The Pitt. I read smut fic and listened to music, because I wasn't in a mood for listening people screaming in pain. Tidal played this song, and with headphones it tingled in my brain and felt like little electric shocks running on the back of my head and neck. So great production in this song. I listened some other songs from the album, they were okay but not the same effect. I looked up the producer JayJay and he is also behind Triple H - 365Fresh, one of the songs I looped years ago!

any thoughts about the comeback of Giriboy? (No Comment)

hi, thx for the ask!

i haven't really been following giriboy or khh much recently, so this is gonna be without much context and only about this song (idek if he has other new songs out 😅)

here are my thoughts:

- love the mv and its style. it seems kind of random but i like the color palette and the way giriboy is styled as well. his dark red sweater with the dark green/black etc.

- i like the overall melody and vibe of the song. due to the beat it does sound a bit chaotic, but it feels like there's a deeper sense of melancholy or something lying beneath? it makes me curious about what the song is actually about

- the beat is a bit much for me, maybe i'd get used to it but for now i probably won't listen to it often because of that

- i roughly auto-translated the lyrics and it seems the character saying the lyrics (=giriboy or could be a made-up character whose story he's telling) is fighting with his girlfriend, telling her she talks too much and he'd rather they both be quiet?? not too sure; if this interpretation is correct, to me that's pretty basic (reminds me of sik-k's noizy... when will they understand women won't have to repeat themselves so often if they just listened once 🙈) but ofc he can write about whatever he wants, it's art, etc.

overall, i've heard giriboy songs that i liked better and ones i liked much worse, so it's in the middle. i won't be adding it to my playlist for now because of the beat.
