(I’m so sorry snowbaz friends) I’m still deep in magical-girl-Eddie fic which I just started posting … hoping to finish soon because this damn thing won’t leave my mind and I need to get to novel editing like … yesterday. But inspiration flows where it flows, ya know?

Here’s some silly “morning-after” shenanigans:

Shannon rolls her eyes as she finally deems a pair of his jeans decent enough to throw on. Then, she huffs at how they hang off her.

Eddie crosses his arms over his chest, suddenly self-conscious of his hippy figure. “Why don’t you just wear your dress from yesterday?”

“I can’t exactly climb out your window in a dress.”

“What does that mean?”

Then, Chris starts knocking on Eddie’s door. “Dad! What are you doing in there?”

“Yeah, Shan,” he hisses. “What are we doing in here?” In a louder voice, he answers his son: “Sorry, mijo! Wardrobe issues.”

“Are all of your pants too small again?”

Even hanging half out of Eddie’s window, one leg draped over the sill, Eddie’s oversized LAFD workout shirt falling off one of Shannon’s shoulders, she manages to snort at Chris’s question.

“Hey, you’re climbing out of my window like a rebellious teen trying to hide from your son,” Eddie reminds her. “So maybe less judgement about my fat ass.”

“It really is fat,” Shannon says before sliding into his backyard and running out of sight.

Eddie’s fairly certain that, in this rare case, he’s allowed to say this. But he whispers it just to be safe. “Bitch.”

Shannon and Eddie’s friendship in this fic gives me life. They are trying so hard! Also pour one out for my man Buck, who has to deal with a sexy girl Eddie with an even fatter ass than normal who keeps flirting with him despite insisting she’s a married lesbian. He googled the patriarchy for her! That’s how you know it’s love.

I really do try to keep it quiet on the 9-1-1 fic front here but I’m sharing this snippet as a consolation prize for not posting this fic yet bc I really want to get a bulk of it done before I start posting except I wanna share it so badly. Thanks in advance for indulging me.

From Eddie-gets-turned-into-a-girl fic which now has a name, “The Life We Choose,” yes it’s named after season 2 episode 18 and no that’s not an omen or anything …. 👀

Eddie crosses his arms over his chest, braced for Buck’s bullshit. “So. What do you want now? To tell me how pretty I look, when your captain’s telling me to stand down? How hot I am when I’m being fucking sidelined?”

“No. I’m here to tell you that was bullshit.”

Eddie’s gaze startles up from the concrete. “What?”

“That was bullshit. You should have been allowed to help. You’ve been in war zones. Why’s this any different? Just because you’ve got a k-kid?” Buck stumbles over the word. He tips up his chin. “I could have backed you up. Gotten you out if things went south.”

“You my big strong protector, Buckley?” Eddie flutters his lashes.

Buck swallows and looks away. “No.” But his voice cracks through the word.

Eddie steps into Buck’s space. “Is that what this is about? You wanna prove yourself to me?” Eddie plays with one of the clasps on Buck’s turnouts. “Show me how big and strong you can be?” Eddie places his palm on Buck’s chest and pushes him back.

He’ll forever relish the look of surprise on Buck’s face at Eddie being strong enough to force him backwards.

“I don’t need your help,” Eddie spits.

At some point I should ask people to let me know if they wanna be tagged in my 9-1-1 updates but until then here are the people I feel comfortable bugging @raeny-day, @probablily, @fiend-for-culture, & @bookish-bogwitch or anyone who wants to share!
