I take it as a postulate that humankind evolves above all through mistake, incomprehension and misunderstanding. In my practice I try to analyse, portray and influence reality, in light of such assumption.
I establish connections based on the very shortcomings of our means of communication. I investigate how discomfort can create awareness of the present. I try to bring attention to the fracture separating a rational and an experiential reading of a given situation.
Through a performative research, I combine the collection, production and alteration of objects, texts and spaces. I set up talks that never begin, frantic group meditations, silent interviews where no questions are asked or answers given, I draw cognitive maps and write texts that are meant to be forever corrected or never understood, I assemble ephemeral installations, conduct late night radio shows, and trigger all sorts of disquieting interactions with audiences and passers-by.

Girolamo Marri Plays His Favourite Record
@ Super Woofer, Matt’s Gallery, 2015
I said I’d play my favourite record for the audience. I talked about subjective and objective, did some very bad tai chi, and never played any record.

READING STAND OFF (WITH SCOT KAPLAN) 11.04 6-6.30pm @Solivagant_nyc 53 Orchard St.
In an experiment of extreme dialectics, Girolamo and artist Scot Kaplan will debate the main themes explored in “We forgot the name of what we wanted to do”: drifting through meanings, expectation mismanagement, unrestrained art practices and oblique communication.
Coffee Break happened last Saturday, no one got injury, only one suit was ruined, it belonged to God apparently, and he didn’t sue us.
