(u say all, then I’m doing all. even tho some of these answers are eh haha)
01: When did you first start writing?- I mean I used to write random little stories as a kid, but the first randomly-inspired bit of writing I think was summer of 8th grade going into 9th
02: What was your favorite book growing up?- this is a tough question, but a series that really had my hook, line, and sinker was The Grey Griffin Trilogy in 4th grade. Those books were so good and I even tried to get the authors to come to my elementary school lol.
03: Are you an avid reader? - Yes! Even though I haven’t read as much as I’d like to (school keeps me busy) I do have spurts where I could just read forever.
04: Have you ever thrown a book across the room?- across a room? No, I couldn’t damage a book like that, but I have thrown them on my bed to get away from during intense parts haha. Actually tho, my 8th grade social studies teacher threw a book down a hallway when a kid was reading in class. It was funny because it wasn’t even his book lol
05: Did you take writing courses in school/college?- I’m taking the shittiest “creative writing” class ever rn but it’s the only one my school offers and I can’t wait until the hell that it is is over. Rather than encourage/teach you to become a better writer, it dwindles your creativity and teaches you zilch outside of common sense.
06: Have you read any writing-advice books?- I have not read books, but I’ve read articles/posts here and there. Sometimes they’re helpful, sometimes not.
07: Have you ever been part of a critique group?- Nope.
08: What’s the best piece of feedback you’ve ever gotten?- I don’t really know? TBH I wish I got more feedback on my writing, more than just people saying it’s good. Like, WHAT did I do well, what could be done better, all that jazz. I have been told I overuse semi-colons and I know it and it’s something I’m trying to fix.
09: What’s the worst piece of feedback you’ve ever gotten?- that I write too much.
10: What’s your biggest writer pet-peeve?- oh, this one comes right to mind: the use of unconsciously in place of subconsciously. Like, were you knocked out, sleeping when you performed this action? No? Then use subconsciously.
11: What’s your favorite book cover?- when I was a kid, I was definitely one of those “buy books by the cover”. Pretty/interesting covers still get me good. But, now, gotta say simplistic things catch my eye better. I’ll Give You the Sun’s cover is my fav rn.
12: Who is your favorite author?- c'mon! What kind of question is this…. Always been a hardcore fan of Rick Riordan and all of his stuff.
13: What’s your favorite writing quote?- “The worst thing you write is better than the best thing you didn’t write”
14: What’s your favorite writing blog? c;- yikes!! I don’t really follow any. :/ any suggestions by anyone would be gr8
15: What would you say has inspired you the most?- seeing so many young writers putting out such great work on ao3 and aff and just whatever. Like, anyone can accomplish great things, so I could too, right?
16: How do you feel about movies based on books?- overall, I’d say the majority pretty much suck e.g. PJO, TMI, Atlas Shrugged, and the list could literally continue forever.
17: Would you like your books to be turned into TV shows, movies, video games, or none?- idk?? I guess it’d be cool, but also, things get too altered in those processes that idk if I would be able to deal with the story not being the exact same.
18: How do you feel about love triangles?- BLEH boring. Predictable. Why?
19: Do you prefer writing on a computer or longhand?- used to do longhand, but I type sooo much faster and it’s so much easier to edit on a computer.
20: What’s your favorite writing program?- don’t use one, but have been thinking about it.
21: Do you outline?-sometimes?? I try to but don’t really know what I’m doing. I know a friend who is REALLY good at doing it though and I wish I had their ability.
22: Do you start with characters or plot?- plot, usually. I’ll get a really good idea and do other stuff later.
23: What’s your favorite & least favorite part of making characters?- I have this AWFUL tendency to (at least with OCs, doesn’t happen with ff as much) to write them all the same? I need more practice making characters.
24: What’s your favorite & least favorite part of plotting?- jfc all of it?!? Like, making beginnings, endings, connecting everything, like dang it’s so extensive! Sometimes I doubt my ability to do it well enough.
25: What advice would you give to young writers?- just write. Don’t be afraid to write because you don’t think it will be good. Practice makes better, and so on and so forth. You won’t start off perfect and you may or may not start off good, but in order to get your writing where you want you just need to try and write!!
26: Which do you enjoy reading the most: physical, ebook, or both?- both. I’ve grown really accustomed to reading ff on my phone so honestly, I enjoy both. But bc of the materialistic lil butt I am, I do LOVE owning physical books
27: Which is your favorite genre to write?- anything? I love reading fantasy the most, but it takes a lot to create a world like that and all of the lil quirks to it. So, as of lately, I’ve really only been writing *mostly* realistic fiction.
28: Which do you find hardest: the beginning, the middle, or the end?-the ending, I think. Usually, when I think of a plot, I think of the middle where all the action is and while I can usually lead into it, wrapping things up is so difficult bc you have to think about all the loose ends and if you forgot anything and all of that in general.
29: Which do you find easiest: writing or editing?- editing. Getting the ideas on the page is the hard part. It’s easier to go over it later with the fine tooth comb and fix things or change wording.
30: Have you ever written fan-fiction?- yes lmao.
31: Have you ever been published?- nope.
32: How do you feel about friends and close relatives reading your work?- GOD PLS DON’T I get really flustered when ppl I know read my stuff bc I have to face them later and idk it just freaks me out what they might think. When I moved, my parents found my first original planned out novel from ninth grade and I used swear words *wOW* and was so em raised and afraid haha but they actually liked it I guess?? Still, a big nope.
33: Are you interested in having your work published?- I would think so, if I believed other people would enjoy it besides me.
34: Describe your writing space.- as if I had one haha. Usually anywhere I won’t be bothered often, could be my room or the living room if it’s empty, whatever.
35: What’s your favorite time of day for writing?- late at night when I’m too incoherent and tired to stop certain thoughts from coming out into the page even if they’re stupid. Stops my filter lol.
36: Do you listen to music when you write?Yep! I cannot stand to work in complete silence or have people talking, but music is soothing and nice. Sometimes it can be really inspiring too.
37: What’s your oldest WIP?- the werewolf fic I wrote in 9 grade lmao, still a WIP. But I’ll also include the SNK ff I was writing with a friend with our own OCs that was supposed to be so good but then I was a bad friend and got busy and didn’t continue writing. Occasionally I go back and think about it and do like an ounce of work to it.
38: What’s your current WIP?- most recent would have to be my ff for Kpop queens who have yet to return from war, The Ark.
39: What’s the weirdest story idea you’ve ever had?- I don’t want to say it’s weird bc to me personally it’s really interesting, but I never got a chance to write about it. It’s basically like steampunky/Victorian or Elizabethan era and it’s about where animals get the sentient minds of humans and this whole world of them is created where some animals are just that while others have very sentient minds and this war breaks out.
40: Which is your favorite original character, and why?- frick, I can’t remember her name, was it Lone Star or something? Lone Moon? It was an OC for Soul seater in this RP me and some friends were doing. I guess because even though she had some faults and the world was against her for stupid reasons of discrimination, she still pushed through and tried.
41: What do you do when characters don’t follow the outline?- idk what this means bc I am not a writery enough writer where the characters “take hold of the story” and “do what they want”
42: Do you enjoy making your characters suffer?- yikes yes and no. It’s like a guilty pleasure. I want them to be happy but what is happiness without a little suffering to substantiate it.
43: Have you ever killed a main character?- NOT YET BUT I WILL AHHHHH *screams for the dolphin* you know, pgsm.
44: What’s the weirdest character concept you’ve ever come up with?- lmao my Lone Moon or whatever the hell her name was because yeah she had an interesting concept. Silver hair, moon shaped scar, Kakashi mask, just… Odd haha.
45: What’s your favorite character name?- Sonja.
46: Describe your perfect writing space.- window bench. A big one. A laptop, lots of pillows, nice ledge for my coffee or drink, my cat there too. Sun shining, very green outside. Lmao I know this is probably weird
47: If you could steal one character from another author and make then yours, who would it be and why?- see, I used to have the perfect character run mind for this but sadly it’s been quite a while since I read something :/// so I guess I’ll say Lexa from The 100 tv writers. They do not deserve her.
48: If you could write the next book of any series, which one would it be, and what would you make the book about?- I don’t really know? Most books I know have pretty decent endings and the ones that don’t I’ve probably blocked from my memory lol. I guess maybe I’d write a third Wolf’s Rain manga and give them a slightly happier ending.
49: If you could write a collaboration with another author, who would it be and what would you write about?- I wouldn’t be good enough to collab with any of my fav authors, published or ff or anything.
50: If you could live in any fictional world, which would it be?- this is so hard!! Yknow I’m going to say something crazy because it suddenly came to my head, and that’s the world of the Cinnamon Bear Christmas radio series lmao.
