All three of Giza's famed pyramids and their elaborate burial complexes were built during a frenetic period of construction, from roughly 2550 to 2490 B.C. The pyramids were built by Pharaohs Khufu (tallest), Khafre (background), and Menkaure (right).

Climbing the Pyramids

Historical Photos since 1870

Photography has changed tourism over the past 150 years. Now it was no longer the draughtsmen who had to depict the beauty of the landscapes, but the photographers were able to produce magnificent pictures with little effort. Very popular in those days were the pyramids. And wonderful pictures were created from a time when it was still allowed to climb the pyramids.
