actually wait... the sock monkey hat I tweeted has a story, and I really want to tell it now...

So most of my sewing stuff I inherited from my grandmother. I went to get a couple of black buttons for the eyes, and couldn’t find the huge stash of them I normally keep (reorganizing the crafting zone in the last few weeks was probably a bad idea... or at least not FINISHING reorganizing was a terrible idea...), so I raided my grandmother’s antique button stash. The only two remotely matchy buttons were these:

which are clearly delightfully colored... so I used them.. Modeled here on a tiny otter

And the baby blanket in the background? (and the tiny bit of blue and grey blanket in the lower right) was made by my other grandmother. More than 20 years ago. So I spent yesterday missing my grandmas. But also loving them for all of this. <3.
