Hope everyone had a blast this year during Gishwhes! Here are some of the items we worked on, we're looking forward to seeing everyone's submissions over the next few weeks and excited to see what's in the gish-future!

A bit belated of a post but both Sam and I hope everyone had a fantabulous time during the 2016 Gishwhes hunt! Both of us were working in the lab last week so it was insanely hectic, but we are super proud of our team for completing so many more items than we thought we could. This was our first year joining a team prior to registration closing and we're so happy to have met all of the wonderful people on our team. Down below we've re-blogged some of the items we were involved in (and some that we weren't because I'm a little re-blog happy 😝) and if you want to see the majority of our 171 items check out or team page at Team Deus Ex Mishina! (Some items were not posted due to personal information in the item or at the request of the subject of the photo). One of my favorite parts (if not my absolute favorite part) is going through and seeing everyone's submissions post-hunt and it blows my mind how many fantastic submissions there are! Official Team Cheerleader Profile: Meg Rogerson

Name: Megan aka Meggzy Age: 27 Status :Official Team Cheerleader Favourite Food: cups of tea Favourite Animal: Well I am known as a bit of a crazy cat lady haha so I guess I should say cats lol Safeword: Peppa Pig Skills: err... Well I work at the diabetes and endocrine centre at my local hospital so I guess I should say I have diabetes skills, also a very good memory for silly random facts and faces, all things Disney related lol and thanks to my 2 year old anything to do with that age group and kids TV haha, also pretty mass baking skills. I can also play the guitar and clarinet ( Man this feels like a job application form lol ) Stories: well I helped out my good friend nat aka dragon embers last year with my sis and had a blast the I want to do the same again, I'm a pretty busy person usually always driving around here and there, running around after people and  commuting to work, interests are varied from obv TV shows such as supernatural to reading lots of books and learning required for my job and when I'm not doing all that I'm looking after my little lady aka the little moose lol  also I have a tea addiction lol I like tea

Official Team Cheerleader Profile: Julie Boersema A.K.A Fledgling  

Name: Julie

Age: 24/25 (just realized that my birthday is in the middle of the hunt! What a good Gish present!)

Status: Fledgling in charge of cheerleading, encouragement, and general joyfulness during the hunt.

Favourite Food: SUGAR. Sweet candies, sour candies, you name it - I love it. If you have dietary restrictions and are susceptible to cravings, ignore all previous - my favourite food is spinach.

Favourite Animal: My handsome pup of course!

Safe word: Supercalifragilisticexpialadocious (because the sound of it is something quite atrocious.)

Skills: I was on the team last year and discovered that my skills consist primarily of researching the odd tasks and double-checking the rules. Need a Tony award winner to recite something completely random? I got that. Need clarification on an item? I got that too. I'm not officially on the team this year as I'll likely be in the midst of moving to a different province so that will determine what proximity skills I have available during the hunt.

Team Member Profile: Jason P. Crawford A.K.A Flight Lieutenant 

Name: Jason P. Crawford

Age: 33

Status: Alive

Favorite Food (I'm American, so I don't get to use the U): Watermelon

Favorite Animal: Orca

Safe word: "Please, for the love of God, stop!"

Skills: Writing, science, damn-fool insanity.

Stories: First year playing, but last year I wrote 71 Misha/QoE/Elopus short stories for participants :)

Team Member Profile: Cassiel Mihok A.K.A Flight Lieutenant 

Name: Cassiel Mihok 

Age: 22 

Status: Flight Lieutenant 

Favourite Food: Peaches, chocolate, and waffles. In that order. 

Favourite Animal: Horses and Dragons, bees, most mammals in general, birds, exluding seagulls and certain vultures (we have an uneasy truce currently), fairly harmless spiders, and various sea life 

Safe word: squid 

Skills: I can paint, make pop up books, ride horses, not play the violin well, draw, and bake a mean apple pie. I can understand Spanish and kind of speak it but not well enough to communicate political thoughts or really anything very interesting, just things that are confusing or amusing for fluent Spanish speakers. 

Stories: I've been sworn to secrecy.

Every body welcome to the team Jason Crawford.

An accomplished author, Jason is responsible for writing an extraordinary amount of stories about Misha, Elopus and The Queen for various GiSHWheS teams last year. We are pleased to announce that the award winning Sci-Fi author Jason P. Crawford has decided to take part in this years hunt and we are delighted to welcome him to Team Pigeon Macleod
