It is, in fact, a Gittler Guitar, as developed by (the now late) Andy Gittler. Teflon-coated titanium bits, a three-octave neck, one pickup per string --- it's a versatile and tough synth trigger, literally made for Bulgarian stadium emo.

but seriously though.

I don’t really think there’s a “best” instrument out there, as it’s really all about how instruments are played and sound together. That said I wanted to take the time to at least try to give a decent answer. This got me thinking about guitars as that’s my main thing I play, but they’re the kind of instrument that has too many variations that are all equally good in vastly different fields.

That said I felt like this would be a good time to explore some weird guitars for a while, so here goes nothing:

Alright so first off I guess we should start off with a gittler guitar. The gittler is a guitar with all the wood removed. Nothing’s really added much,  it’s just kinda a metal guitar stick that looks and sounds AWESOME. Here’s a video to get the idea across:

So on a similar theme the next one on the list is this cool stainless steel bass. It looks like a hunting horn from Monster Hunter (the neck of the Basarios Rock is pretty similar I think?) anyway the simplicity in it’s design is pretty cool and I just love me a good bass, so here goes:

And now we’ll move on to one of the things guitar designers do best: Jam a metric fuckton of strings onto one instrument. The best example I found just now was this cool video called “Jimbo on his War Guitar”. I now know I will name my firstborn son Jimbo and my firstborn daughter War Guitar cuz fuck man this thing is awesome (btw I think it has 14 strings in total but I’m not sure):

And last but not least here’s probably the most well-known of the bunch: the harp guitar. It’s a guitar if it was designed by Pablo Picasso. Wanna slap on another neck? Why not. Wanna make it look like the coolest abomination ever to sound this smooth? Sure. Welcome to harp guitars. The coolest one I could find a video of is probably this one called the Medusa Guitar, made by Linda Manzer: 

So anyway I hope this was sufficient as an essay on cool-ass instruments and I guess I got a bit carried away, but really what did you expect when you asked me to talk about this kinda stuff? Anyway hope you enjoy!
