I’m in the business of misery, let’s take it from the top.
You spend so much time with someone
You begin to open up to them
You trust them to stand by your side
Through whatever difficulties
Because you know they understand you
One day they decide they’ve had enough
That you’re no longer that person they thought you were
Maybe somebody newer and better walked in
Because you’re too problematic
And all the differences suddenly take the front seat.
It doesn’t matter how good a person you were to them.
Because now they look at you differently
And that’s the only version they can see.
They choose to only see the bad
All the problems and downfalls
Despite everything you did for them,
That’s when you start to wonder
“Why am I not good enough?
You always mess this up for yourself
So sometimes there’s nobody tp blame
For letting it happen over and over again.
For believing that you found a true friend in that person.
For never learning your lesson.
Everytime you meet someone,
You rip your already broken heart
Because you have so much love to give.
They stare at your bloodied beating heart
And when they’ve had enough,
They throw it to the ground,
And make you watch as they walk away.
Have to gently pick up the pieces of your broken heart.
You believe that you were the problem
You were the reason they were miserable
And getting rid of you would make things better.
While you, broken hearted
You suddenly aren’t good enough.
