Small White Lies Are Still Lies
Definition: A small, harmless, and insignificant lie, especially one told out of politeness or to spare one’s feelings. Origin of White Lie.
Husband: Good Morning! (Kiss on cheek)
Wife: Morning. BTW, did you notice that I came to bed crying this morning at 2 AM?
Husband: No!? I was sleeping.
Wife: How could you be sleeping? When I came into bed, you turned over to me and put your arm on my pillow and stroked my forehead?!
Husband: Yeah I did but I didn't hear your crying!
Wife: You didn't hear me sobbing? Did you not feel me get up and get tissue to blow my nose?
Husband: I heard you sniffle a lot but I thought you had a cold.
Wife: A cold! You saw me all day! Did it look like I had a cold today? Is that why you turned over to the other side of the bed facing away from me?
Husband: What are you talking about?! You know I can't function when I'm sleeping!
Wife: Let me get this straight ... when I came to bed you turned over to me, stroked my forehead, heard me sniffle, and then turned away all while you were sleeping instead of comforting your wife of 16 years of marriage who bared you 2 beautiful children? Liar.
Husband: OMG, okay, why were you crying?
Wife: Nevermind. I want to tell someone who gives a shit!
