depending on how observant you are, giyuu’s crush on you would be pretty obvious. none most of the other hashira dislike him and don’t talk to him so they would all notice when the two of you start communicating more.
but don’t let that fool you, giyuu would still be way too shy to approach you by himself. he would just stare at you hoping that you would start the conversation first, but even then he wouldn’t contribute much to the conversation just happy yo be near you.
giyuu would be aware how he felt for you, but he pushed the idea of confessing straight out of his mind. he believes you deserve better than him, giyuu doesn’t even think he deserves to be the water hashira so why would he deserve you?
tanjiro would definitely notice giyuu’s little crush on you and he would encourage him to confess. even telling him that he knows for sure that you feel the same way, but he still won’t budge. shinobu would try to “help” too, teasing him for his crush on you or even saying that she’ll tell you herself.
after enough pushing, giyuu would come to the conclusion that he should confess. mostly because he wants tanjiro and shinobu to leave him alone, but also if you were to get with anyone else he would never forgive himself.
he would wait until after you got back from your mission. if you’re hurt he would accompany you to the butterfly mansion, if not he would shyly ask you to join him for a meal. at first it would be really awkward, giyuu not saying anything and if there is any talking it’s mostly you. (but he’s listening intently)
he would be nervous the entire time you two sat together, trying to work up the courage to finally say what he wants. just when you were about to walk off he grabs your wrist pulling you back towards him.
“i like you…” he mumbles out, his cheeks were pink as he looked at the ground. he would wait patiently for your response, whatever you say is up to you.
