Waking up to this has already made my day in many ways. A day or so ago I was talking to my fabulous brother about an opportunity I have on the horizon and about how I want to be perceived—if you look in my bio anywhere on any social media they all start with “activist” and that’s how it has been for close to a decade. No matter what has changed in my life...school, jobs, relationship status I’ve always been an activist FIRST when describing myself.. . I truly believe one person can make a difference. It’s hard to see sometimes but it’s absolutely the truth. . . These #SilenceBreakers stood up when people needed to hear their stories. They faced ridicule and shame in cases but they empowered millions to stand up too. . —Basically what I’m saying is this #TIMEpoy came at a perfect time for me and hopefully others. It’s always the right time to stand up for yourself, what you believe in and others who haven’t found their voice yet. . . Thanks for listening #GlamorousOnes Good Morning and I hope you have an #empowered Day 😘 #Repost @time ・・・ The Silence Breakers are TIME's Person of the Year 2017.
