About The Track - Something To Die For This might be my favourite. If you’ve been following me on Instagram from the start of this year, you’ve probably heard clips at some point. The album makes a right turn here. We go from the inward looking bleakness of the first few songs so far, into this outward looking defiance against that bleakness. It might be the closest thing to a happy song I’ve ever written. If that’s at all possible. Listen out for all the little details and subtle changes in that chorus. About the Track - The Pragmatist This song was recorded during the pandemic, and a lot of the imagery lined up nicely with the general sense of anxiety and decline in mental health that so many people have experienced as a result of social distancing and self isolation. In reality, the track came about in a pre COVID-19 world, and dealt with my own lack of enthusiasm in going outside and meeting people. It all sounds quite bleak, but the song was written as a message to myself, laying out all the problems I had created for myself, and as a reminder - that things had to change.
