He’d been missing for three days past when he was supposed to be home. He’d made the mistake of dropping by the bar for a drink, needing to sooth his frazzled nerves. He’d met a stranger there, one who helped him.
Only to turn on him in his weakened state. For fun.
Bloody, broken and exhausted, he was staring up at the rain, unable to move his body.
Golden eyes blinked slowly, deadened as they stared, uncaring about the rain falling into them.
He hoped no one found him.
“You don’t deserve death.” He had been told.
And he was right. He didn’t. He deserved to live like this as long as possible.
The ring was clutched in his right hand, covered in blood...like it was the only thing keeping him alive.
