【 Ⅲ 】 ——  Cheek resting on his chest, golden beryl hues peer up at his statement, studying him quietly as if searching for any sign of hesitation or doubt. Running a hand through her choppy ink black locks, she sits up so she can use her hands more easily.

Expression sober, she gazes down at him as she signs her query, a light crease appearing between her brows. Though they had never really defined what they were to each other, it had been clear that they were more than just friends or casual fuck buddies. Still, there had always been an edge of underlying desperation to their meetings whenever they were able to see each other, as if this might be the last time they could get together. And, with the life they lived, she supposes it’s only natural to feel that way.

Still, her own desperation felt a little more… urgent, a kind of fear that he might leave her one day when the truth of what she is, the truth that she could never really be his as long as she was in Cerberus, would dawn on him. After all, how could a relationship continue and blossom when one person is essentially a slave and only allowed out to play when she has to kill someone ?

I’m always… kind of afraid that you might leave one day… I wouldn’t really blame you, I mean– I’m not normal, so we can’t really… have a normal relationship or whatever. We always have to sneak around and can only see each other every once in a while, so I guess it could get kind of annoying to deal with.

Pressing her lips together, she lets out a small sigh.

But, if you stay, I’ll stay because I’ll always want you and no one else… This is the happiest I’ve ever really been in my entire life, Ryoto… and that’s thanks to you… and no one could ever compare to you. Ever.

Her expression softens as she smiles quietly down to him, pressing a tender kiss to his lips.

Basket in one hand and beach bag on the other, Julieta approached the meeting point with a slight skip on her step. Denying it would be pointless, she was beyond excited by the prospect of spending the entire day with her girlfriend, with Jules. And wasn’t that amazing? Jules was her girlfriend, her girlfriend. No matter how many times she thought it, or said it out loud, it would never stop it’s novelty. Nor would it diminish the warmth that filled her chest every time she thought of Jules. 

Eyes glancing around the crowd, she felt her smiled widening when she saw Jules waiting for her. Slipping through the crowd with ease, one of the advantages of being her height, she soon found herself next to her girlfriend. Placing the basket and the bag at her feet, Julieta reached for Jules hands, bringing them up to her lips and placing a soft kiss into the back of each. “Hello there, gorgeous. How are you doing this fine morning?”

Perhaps it would have been simpler to just kill them.

An overly simplistic explanation, considering the truth. Unfortunately, things were a lot more complicated than that, as they always seemed to be for her.

She’d have to be on her guard. No doubt, he’d send triple the reinforcements next time, which she’d supposed he should have done in the first place. But she’d been off the grid for a while, so it’d have made sense that she shouldn’t have been as big a problem to bring in as she would have been once upon a time. And in part, they’d been correct.

She was less inclined to stab people nowadays, for one, which already made her skills less effective; considering a potential murder was – kinda bad for her reputation, you know?

Kinda bad for everything, really.

Her peace of mind on the forefront of that list. “Anyway – it doesn’t matter. I think what you did might be enough of an answer for them, and I don’t think they’ll be back.” Liar. “But you should probably – uhm – “ Mahogany hues shifted away from him, as though unable to even look at him when her lies were digging her deeply into the ground.

She’d hoped he wouldn’t mention it. “You can get a few extra bodyguards for yourself, right? Just in case?”

In case of what? Good question. 

They might just yet find out.

Hands became buried in the large pockets of her hoodie, knees bending so she could sit a little closer and hear her over the sound of talking and foot traffic. Rio — cool name. Cool person, at least that’s the impression she got right away. “Anita. You know how to play anything else?”

Honestly, the worst movie i went to see in theaters was Max Payne. I fell asleep in my goddamn seat and someone stood up at the end and shouted “THAT WAS BULLSHIT”

Max Payne WAS some bullshit. almost as much as seeing Doom in theaters; only reason anybody enjoyed it the night i went to see that was because me and my friends cracked jokes through it. we had people behind us laughing right along with us.

【 ❀❀❀ 】 ——  Knelt in front of one of the many rose bushes that adorned Anya’s private garden and with her head bent low, she certainly appears as if she is actually making an attempt to prune the foliage. And she had tried, but with the warmth of the balmy spring afternoon and her anemia acting up, she can’t quite keep herself from drifting in and out of a light doze. After having spent most of the morning in the hospital wing to receive a blood transfusion, she had been anxious to get outside and spend what little precious time she had away from her master.

At the feel of a hand brushing against her shoulder, she’s pulled from her light doze with a blink of orchard colored eyes. Peering up, her entire visage brightens as if a light had been turned on beneath her pale skin and she’s quickly on her feet, arms wrapping tightly around his sturdy frame.

❝ Silas~ ! When did you get back ? ❞ it felt like it had been weeks since she had last seen him and considering Anya usually did send him out for the more complicated contracts, she wouldn’t have been surprised if it really had been that long.
