gleedone: Season 1, Episode 2 - Britney/Brittany (New Scenes)

INT. McKINLEY HIGH HALLWAY - DAY

Finn is at his locker when Azimio and Karofsky approach him grabbing his varsity jacket from his locker.

Finn:

Hey! Give me that back! I earned that!

Finn tries to get his jacket back to no avail.

Azimio (smirking):

This jacket belongs to people who are actually on the team. But you know what? We gonna restyle it to represent the obvious duality in your sexuality.

Azimio and Karofsky rip apart his varsity jacket smirking at devestated Finn who decided to take matters into his own hands and swing at Azimio.

Azimio (smirks):

Trying to swing at me?

Karofsky:

Swingin', huh?

Azimio (tauntingly):

Come on. Swing at me.

Coach Beiste enters the hallway and notices what is going on getting between Finn and Azimio.

Beiste (annoyed):

What the hell is this? 

(to Azimio and Karofksy) Shouldn't you two be getting to practice?

Azimio and Karofsky smirk as they high five each other walking away to practice as Finn turns away feeling devestated by what had just happened to his jacket.

Beiste (sympathetically):

Finn...what those two boys did to you is not right. I will personally get you another varsity jacket myself.

Finn sighs

Finn:

What's the point?

Beiste (confused):

Excuse me?

Finn (solemnly):

I'm off the team, it's not like having the varsity jacket is going to change that. Thanks for the offer Coach but I think it's just best if I leave it behind.

Finn walks off with his head down as Coach Beiste watches him go, feeling awful about the state things were in for him but she didn't exactly know how to fix it.

INT. CHOIR ROOM - DAY

Will and Kurt have just had their confrontation where Kurt calls him uptight and has been called to Figgins’ office, Will turns back around to the Glee Club.

Will:

As for the rest of you, let's keep exploring adult contemporary while I'm gone yes?

The New Directions nod unenthusiatically as Will exits the choir room, Santana then takes over.

Santana:

Okay we need to figure out a way for him to see it our way. Kurt's not wrong.

Brittany nods.

Brittany:

Totally agree.

Quinn sighs.

Quinn:

Guys you heard Mr. Schue. I don't think there's any way to get through to him about this.

Rachel:

Unless....

Rachel gets up in front of the New Directions with an idea.

Rachel:

We prepare a Britney number. Maybe then we can show him through song exactly how Britney Spears would be great for our Glee Club.

The Glee Club nods, seeming to be in agreement with each other. They needed to find a way to get Mr. Schue to let them do Britney, someway, somehow.

INT. CARL’S OFFICE - DAY

Carl is looking at Rachel’s charts as Rachel is fidgetting nervously.

Carl:

Okay Rachel, I'm going to need to put you under a general anesthetic...I need to do some work on your teeth.

Rachel (concerned):

The work is not going to affect my singing is it? 

Carl gives her a look, wondering why she’s acting this.

Rachel:

My voice is everything to me.

Carl:

Of course not...we're just going to give you a deep cleaning and see what other problems we find, okay?

Rachel nods, still unsure about having anything done. Carl put on some music as he put the mask over Rachel's face as she began to fantasize about singing 'I'm Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman', also wearing some of Britney's iconic outfits from the music videos.

As Rachel performs the song she pictured herself being a pretty girl, one that could keep Finn's attention.

INT. CARL’S OFFICE DAY

Carl is looking at Artie’s charts as Artie awaits to see what needs to be done.

Carl:

Well on the bright side all you need is a deep cleaning and you'll be good to go.

Artie (happy with the outcome):

No that is a good thing.

Carl:

I'll give you some general anesthesia and play some music for you alright?

Carl then puts the mask over Artie who pictures himself performing ‘Stronger’ finally feeling over Tina with the help of the football team, specifically Finn who had been there for him during the breakup.

INT. LOCKER ROOM - DAY

Finn is taking his things out of his football locker as Artie wheels in.

Artie:

What are you doing?

Finn:

Clearing out my locker...I mean I was kicked off the team so I needed to come back and get my stuff.

Artie:

That's what I came to talk to you about. I feel so awful about getting you kicked off the team. I wanted to come and talk to Coach Beiste about putting you back on the team. You've been such a good friend to me Finn I want to repay you.

Finn (unsure):

I don't know dude, I don't think she would go for it.

Finn shakes his head as Coach Beiste enters.

Beiste:

I wouldn't go for what?

Artie rolls over to Coach Beiste.

Artie:

Coach, I think you should let Finn back on the team. He was only trying to help me get on the team so I could get my girlfriend back. I realize now it was a mistake, without her I'm stronger.

Coach Beiste considers what Artie has to say, impressed by his plea and quickly makes her decision.

Beiste:

Okay....I've heard enough you're back on the team Finn.

Finn (in disbelief):

Are you serious?

Beiste: I don't just joke around, now go to the equipment department before I change my mind.

Finn (excitedly):

Thanks Coach!

Finn wheels Artie out of the locker room as Coach Beiste watches them leave feeling satisfied with her decision.

INT. CHOIR ROOM - DAY

World traveled around fast about Finn being back on the team as Rachel storms up to him. 

Rachel (annoyed):

You're back on the football team?

Rachel folds her arms.

Finn (confused):

Yeah....you told me I had your blessing to go back on the squad, remember?

Rachel fumed, she didn’t think he actually had a chance of getting back on.

Santana (flirtatiously):

Suddenly you're way hotter to me....weird.

INT. CHOIR ROOM HALLWAY - DAY

The girls are entering the choir room to rehearse the number for the homecoming assembly when Rachel pulls Quinn aside.

Rachel:

Can I ask you a favor?

Quinn (annoyed):

If you must.

Rachel sighs.

Rachel:

Look I know we're not friends or anything but I'm worried about Finn. Him being back on the football team makes me worry he'll go back to Brittany or Santana....or you.

Quinn looks back at Rachel confused. Quinn: What do you want me to do?

Rachel (says hopeful that Quinn would say yes):

I know you're not dating anyone...maybe you could ask out Finn so I could see how he'd react.

Quinn sighs.

Quinn:

Rachel...I don't know. I haven't exactly spoken much to Finn since last year.

Quinn shakes her head feeling like this is the wrong thing to do as Rachel frowns.

Rachel:

I already have a script prepared for what I want you to say. 

Quinn is slightly amused at this fact.

Rachel (pleadingly):

Please Quinn. You're the only Cheerio I know I can trust.

Quinn:

And what makes you so sure about that?

Rachel:

You never tried to take Finn...even when he and I broke up last year.

Quinn thinks about it for a few minutes, ultimately deciding to do it.

Quinn:

Fine....I'll do it

Rachel hugs Quinn ecstatically.

Rachel (beams)

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Rachel rushes off all too excited for her test as Quinn still looks unsure if it’s the right thing to do.

INT. CHOIR ROOM - DAY

Rachel performs ‘Woman in Love’ by Barbra Streisand with the help of the New Directions Girls. As the performance goes on Puck tries to meet Quinn’s gaze who kept her eyes out to Rachel. Rachel sings looking Finn deep in the eyes as he smiles back at her, thrilled by her performance.

gleedone: Season 1, Episode 1 - Audition (New Scenes)

INT. LOCKER ROOM - DAY

Jacob Ben Isarel is interviewing Puck in the locker room as he is wiping his armpits.

Jacob: 

Confirm or deny the rumor that since you knocked up Quinn Fabray you decided to cool things off with most of the girls at the school?

Puck:

It's true. (shrugs) It was the responsible thing to do.

Jacob:

Is it also true you're suffering from a crippling depression because you're not over Miss Fabray?

Puck is clearly annoyed by the question and punches the camera unwilling to answer it.

INT. SUE’S OFFICE - DAY

Will Schuester comes storming into the office as Sue Sylvester is working on some paperwork as Will knocks on Sue’s door which she looks up from her work.

Will (somewhat annoyed): 

Hey, Sue. Can I talk to you for a second?

Sue (says while sipping her coffee):

Sure, buddy. You look steamed.

Will (annoyed):

Those kids went out and really tried to show what Glee Club was all about. And how does the school repay them? By defacing the sign-up sheet. 

Will slams the sign up sheet on Sue’s desk

Will (annoyed):

"Buttface McBallnuts." "Ass-braham Lin-colon." They're not even funny!

Sue (smirking)

Now, don't be rude, William. I put a lot of thought into those.

Will (in disbelief):

What is wrong with you?

Sue:

Consider this a wake up call. You and I both know with our budgets being cut there's no way we'll get enough money going forward.

Will (confused)

What are you saying?

Sue:

I'm saying we need to find a way to get rid of Beiste. 

Sue smirks

Sue:

Getting rid of Beiste mens our budgets will be restored.

Will thinks about Sue’s offer for a second as Sue seems almost gleeful that he’s pondering the option. Will, realizing it’s the wrong thing to do shakes his head.

Will:

No. I'm not getting my budget back. Not like that.

Sue glares at Will for turning her down.

Sue:

Consider yourselves back on Sue Sylvester's hit list. You think what I did to your little sign up sheet was bad, you ain't seen nothing yet.

Will (confidently):

I'll take my chances.

Will then left Sue's Office with a newfound confidence, Sue however watched him leave annoyed that she didn't have an ally.

INT. TEACHERS LOUNGE - DAY

Coach Shannon Beiste enters nervously with her lunch with it being her first day on the job and decides to approach Sue.

Beiste:

Anyone sitting here?

Sue (smirking):

Yes. These seats are currently being occupied by my ghost friends.

Beiste (in disbelief)

I beg your pardon?

Sue (smirks)

My ghost friends. Hideous, lonely faculty members who met with an early death from good old-fashioned schoolyard bullying. And you know why? They tried to cross me. So why don't you just keep on walking?

Beiste shook her head dumbfounded as she walked over to Will and Emma who are having lunch together. 

Beiste (nervously)

Hi, Will. You... you mind if I sit here?

Will (smiling)

Sure.

Emma nods in agreement.

Emma (smiling brightly)

Please do.

Coach Beiste took a seat as Sue looks disgusted.

 Will: Shannon, this is Emma Pillsbury, she's the guidance counselor.

Beiste and Emma nod to indicate each other.

Beiste:

It's nice to meet another faculty member who doesn't discriminate.

Beiste smiled slightly 

Beiste:

I'm used to the treatment Sue gave me. Being a female football coach I get that at every school.

Emma (frowning)

I'm sorry to hear that.

Beiste shrugged 

Beiste:

I figured Sue would be the one to be like that to me. 

(To Will) Look I'm really sorry about your budget being cut.

Will (honestly):

It's going to be hard to get the money for the Glee Club to be able to compete but I'm sure we'll figure something out.

Will shrugs.

Beiste:

I'll make sure Figgins gives as much money back to the Glee Club as possible. I know I came off a little strong but I needed to show Sue that no matter what she tried she wouldn't tear me down.

Will and Emma are impressed by the new coaches confidence and ability to stand up to Sue.

Will:

It's the right way to be.

Emma nodded as they finished their lunch with Beiste which further pissed off Sue. She had to find a way to break up the Glee Club but how?

INT. GYM - DAY (CHEERIOS TRYOUTS)

Sue is seated at a table with Becky by her side to be her co-judge of the auditions as Sunshine Corozon enters the gym. Sue narrows her eyes at Sushine, not seeing her name on the sign up sheet.

Sue:

Why don't I know you?

Sue narrows her eyes at Sunshine

Sunshine (innocently):

I'm here to try out for the Glee Club.

Sue couldn't help but laugh. 

Sue (in disbelief):

You can't be serious. You came here to join the Glee Club?

Sunshine (confused):

This is where Glee Club auditions are aren't they? 

She beams.

Rachel sent me here.

Sue (intrigued)

Did she now?

Sue smirked a bit as Sunshine nodded. 

Sue:

Well then. Let me get back to you on that...

Sunshine (beaming)

Sunshine. Sunshine Corazon.

Sue (nodding):

Sunshine. Got it.

Sunshine hugs Sue all too excited to be in the club. 

Sunshine:

Thank you.

Sue (smirking):

Oh you're welcome. NEXT!

Sunshine exits feeling an excitement. Sue knows tearing down the Glee Club just got easier than she ever thought it could. If Rachel was sending someone the wrong way they had to be a threat to her. Sue made a note to call Carmel High. She wanted to make Vocal Adrenaline stronger than before. 

Quinn Fabray, however is waiting in the wings to go next and watches Sunshine leave confused thinking she overheard her say something about Glee Club but decides against saying anything because it’s her time to get rendemption for last year.

INT. SUE’S OFFICE - DAY 

The next day Quinn arrives at Sue’s office and knocks on the door.

Quinn:

Coach Sylvester?

Sue looks up from working on her journal

Quinn (in a hopeful tone)

Have you given any more thought to what I said?

Sue:

I have, Q.

Sue narrows her eyes at Quinn. 

Sue:

Why should I let you back on the squad when the last time I gave you a spot after much campaigning you told me you wanted nothing more to do with the Cheerios? 

Quinn (seriously):

I can promise you that I've changed. Last year I was a different person. If you let me back on the squad I promise you I won't let you down.

Sue:

I need more than that Q, if you want back on the squad. You know that.

Quinn:

Fine.

Quinn takes a deep breath knowing what she had to do next was betraying her best friend.

Quinn (honestly):

Santana got a boob job over the summer.

Sue (outraged):

She did what?

Quinn:

She knowingly disobeyed your no plastics policy, Coach.

Sue scoffs annoyed that Santana would stoop so low.

Quinn:

I hear you've made her captain. Do you really want that kind of leadership from someone who has no respect for your rules?

Sue ponderes what Quinn has to say realizing Quinn is right.

Sue:

You know, Q, you're right....send Santana into my office. You're back on the squad. 

Sue hands Quinn back a box with her uniform inside.

Quinn takes the box all too enthusiastically

Quinn:

Thank you Coach.

Quinn smiles at the uniform all too happy to have it back. This was going to be her year. She was getting back on the cheerios and back to getting her life together after everything she had gone through.

INT. McKINLEY HIGH HALLWAY - DAY

Quinn exits Sue’s office with a newfound confidence as she finds Santana waiting outside which makes what she has to do next all too perfect.

Quinn:

Coach Sylvester wants to see you.

Santana shoots Quinn a look.

Santana (tauntingly):

You can’t call her that anymore.

Quinn smirks, excited to reveal the news to Santana.

Quinn:

Sure I can. I’m back on the squad.

Santana scoffs as Quinn saunters off to change into her cheerios uniform. Santana rolls her eyes as she heads into Sue’s office not expecting at all what came next.

INT. CHOIR ROOM - DAY

Will takes Quinn into the choir room to talk after what just went down between her and Santana in the hallway.

Will (concerned):

Quinn, this isn't like you...what's going on. 

Quinn tears up.

Quinn (emotionally):

Mr. Schue you have no idea what it's been like for me. Ever since I had...her I can't even think straight.

Will:

Why were you and Santana fighting?

Quinn sighs, realizing she’s going to have to admit her wrongdoing. 

Quinn:

I kind of told Coach Sylvester about her boob job.

Will (in disbelief)

Why would you do that Quinn?

Quinn (emotionally)

I wanted back on the squad. I needed some normalcy in my life. 

Will seemed to understand where Quinn was coming from but he knew he still had to say something. 

Will (comfortingly)

I get you wanting to be back on the Cheerios since it was such a big part of your life but selling out your friends to get there isn't the answer.

Quinn wipes her eyes knowing Will was right.

Quinn (frowning)

I'm sorry Mr. Schue.

Will (seriously):

You don't need to apologize to me. I think you do owe Santana an apology. 

Quinn nods, realizing Will is right as she wipes her tears away.

Quinn: Thanks Mr. Schue...you always know what to say.

Will:

Let me write you a pass so you're not late for class.

Will writes her a pass to get to her next class and Quinn then makes her way down the hallway.

INT. McKINLEY HIGH HALLWAY - DAY

Quinn is making her way down the hallway with a pass to her next class as she is thinking about evrything she went through.

Quinn (voiceover):

To say I had a tough summer would be an understatement.

CUT TO FABRAY HOUSE - DAY

Quinn is lying in bed listless after giving birth to Beth, feeling more alone and guilty than ever before.

Quinn (voiceover):

After giving birth I soon found myself enthralled in a deep depression. I couldn't help but feel so incredibly guilty giving....her up like that. Especially to Shelby who was someone I had just met. I regretted not keeping her. I knew I couldn't change things but somehow that just made things even worse for me. I had be MIA for most of the summer. 

Quinn’s phone is shown going off as she keeps hitting a button to let it go to machine, not wanting to talk to anyone.

Quinn (voiceover)

Ignoring calls from most of my fellow Glee Club members, especially Puck. I didn't know what I could say to him especially after giving her up. The last time we spoke he told me he loved me. I couldn't see why he would.

Puck is shown continuinously calling Quinn, trying to talk to her as like everyone elses calls Quinn is shown prompltly ignoring his calls, not knowing anything she could say or do to make things right.

CUT TO McKINLEY HIGH HALLWAY - DAY

Quinn is making her way to Santana to go apologize, feeling terrible for what went down.

Quinn (voiceover):

This year needs to be different. I need a distraction from all I have lost. That's why I rejoined the Cheerios. Sure, being on the squad might not be as fulfilling as it once was but at least it would serve as a distraction and at this point I needed all the distractions I could get.

Quinn arrives in the classroom and approaches Santana who seems less than thrilled to see Quinn.

INT. CLASSROOM - DAY

Santana (smirking)

Are you ready for round 2 or what?

Quinn:

Look, I came to apologize.

Quinn sighs

Quinn:

I should have never sold you out like that. You're one of my best friends, Santana. I know we fight sometimes but you and Brittany have been my girls since we joined the cheerios together.

Santana sighs realizing she might have been too rash to just attack Quinn.

Santana:

I accept your apology. 

Santana (frowning):

You know Coach Sylvester removed me as captain right? I'm now at the bottom of the pyramid. 

Quinn (confused)

But who's captain?

Brittany enters the classroom

Brittany (simply):

Me. 

Santana and Quinn (shocked):

You?

Brittany nods looking somewhat unsure of why she got the position as she talks.

Brittany:

Coach Sylvester told me she wanted me to be captain this year.  Something about me being the only one she could count on or something.

Quinn (smiles):

Brittany, that's great.

Quinn actually happy for her friend. Santana, however didn't look please. She cared about Brittany but she was still mad at Quinn for getting her booted as captain.

INT. McKINLEY HIGH HALLWAY - DAY

Tina approaches Sunshine who is getting her things from her locker.

Tina:

We missed you at Glee Club rehearsals.

Sunshine looks at Tina puzzled

Sunshine (confused):

I thought I went to Glee Club try-outs?

Tina shakes her head

Tina:

No...you didn't show up. We had auditions in the choir room last afternoon from 3 to 5.

Sunshine (still confused):

The choir room? Rachel told me it was in the gym.

Tina gasps realizing Rachel set Sunshine up for failure.

Tina:

That's where Cheerios tryouts are....she set you up!

Sunshine frowns

Sunshine:

Why would she do that?

Tina (annoyed):

Because Rachel only looks out for herself. (thinks about it) I'm sure we can work something out. I'll talk to Mr. Schue.

Sunshine (grateful):

Thank you.

Tina walks off to talk to Mr. Schue more upset than ever before at Rachel for quite possibly sabatoging their only shot of making it to Sectionals.

CUT TO CHOIR ROOM - DAY

Tina storms into Will’s office as Will looks up

Tina:

Mr. Schue...we need to talk.

Will listens to Tina concerned with what she could have to say.
