I had an unlikely friend back in my last two years of high school. I was a horrendously insecure and mostly unhinged person trying to pick up the pieces of my broken self in a new place. He was really popular and chill, at least always seemed really unshakably cool in public. I was about as far from that as one could get. I told him now how it was weird that we were friends. He asked why and I explained like above. "You were cool though." It's kinda making me tear up, not gonna lie.
