Honestly, Eevee was completely surprised that Eva had said yes to such a juvenile request on their part. Maybe she’d taken pity on them, waddling over as she sat on the couch with a book in their hands like a child asking their parent to read to them. With everything that’d happened to Agent Beyond, Eevee was having trouble sleeping. The executives preferred to view the agents more as assets and less like the actual people they were, but that did not work for Eevee.
Exhaling a soft sigh, they climbed onto the couch and curled into as small of a ball as they could, keeping a respectable distance as to not make Eva feel uncomfortable, of course. Their fingers trailed along on the edges of the worn copy of ‘Iliad’ before peeking over at the other agent. It was something about this poem; a pleasant memory from their childhood as their nanny read them to sleep. “Thank you for this,” they whispered extremely softly, not helping the image of actually being a child.
