what do you use for references? do you just find things you like on pinterest? or is there some website i'm not aware of? also, what rigs do you like to use? i know there are several custom rigs for sims 4, but i wasn't sure what's best for beginners

current obsession: Great question. Probably the restaurant Eat'n Park. A core childhood memory was unlocked there this week and now I can't get over it. 🍪

currently working on: Sooo many things. For school, it's some peer reviews. For the sims, it's retaking screenshots for a story I don't know if I'll ever post. For myself, it's a gay coming of age story that I really need to catch up on 😭

genuine question about stories based on gameplay :3

how do y'all go about basing your stories on gameplay? like, do your sims do things autonomously and you imagine what they're saying or the reasoning behind their actions, then you pose them and tell the story? do you try to guide their actions a certain way, or is it purely based on how they act on their own? if you get an idea for a plotline you want to carry out, do you make them act accordingly?

also, save files.. do you have one for gameplay and one for posing so you don't interrupt the sims' flow of things? or do you keep it all in one?

basically, i have a bunch of ideas for the vibes i want my story to have, but no clue about the plot, so i've been thinking about trying gameplay to inspire the plot. i've just never done it before so idk what i'm doing lmao

meet ducky cline! he's an alien who loves earth and was flying past on a trip with his mom and little sister, but they crash-landed and now he doesn't know where they are. he has the live fast aspiration and he's clumsy and a plant lover. (he picked his name based on street signs he saw nearby and he got his clothes from one of those donation bins in parking lots).

hey, have you ever seen the plane crash deco from strangerville and wanted it to look like a commercial plane instead of a military plane? no? just me? well, through surprisingly little trial and error, i managed to retexture the cockpit using some life & death wall textures! i don't know if anyone will ever need this or if i myself will ever even use it, but i thought i'd share it anyway just in case! i'm not sure if you need strangerville or not for it, but i'm assuming you do.

(i'm sorry, i forgor to take pictures in game but i swear it looks better there LMAO. i might edit this post with better pics later)

hey there! i'm novie (short for november), i'm 24, i use she/they pronouns, and i love the sims! i've played the sims 2, 3, and 4 and i'm a firm believer that if we mixed the elements of all three games then we would have the perfect sims game. i've played these games for more hours than is probably healthy, and as of may 2025 i have +10,000 hours on the sims 4.
