A Case of the Shimmers: Decorating with Sparkle
Hello babies (has Jacks would say in Love and Other Disasters– a lovely film)! Happy post New Year. This is the inaugural post on my new blog, “Girl In a Home” (the title’s above, I know, but I’m super excited). To commemorate the New Year and the new site, I thought I’d start with a little pizzazz. And what’s more pizzazz-y then sparkles, sequins and all the glittery things that make life more fun?
I love a little shimmer. Whether it’s a silver thread weaved into the tendricles of a snuggly sweater or a pair of sequined over Uggs, there’s never a wrong day or time to add some flash. Let’s face it, adding a little sparkle to the everyday is a great way to add whimsy to your life. But this doesn’t have to be just for your attire. Sparkliness can be added to your home decor too. Especially in small ways that dresses up the functionality of your home accessories. Below I’ve got some of my favorite pretty pretties to add to your home.
Add some shine to your bed with the addition of some interesting pillows or a shiny bedspread.
Make dinnertime fanciful with sparkly place mats and cutlery:
Add a modernized sixties vibe with curtains or lighting.
