Powered by Wind: Charity Crossing
Imagine that!
Most of us can't imagine getting out of our cosy houses on a cold February day. For others it's an opportunity to jump into ice cold waters to raise funds and awareness for charity. This is where you come in!
That's exactly what GKF co-founder Sandrine and a great team of volunteer kiters and sailors are doing on February 4th.
The challenge is to kitesurf and sail 22km across the south Evoikos Kolpos (channel) in Greece, to mark World Cancer Day and raise funds for charity.
All proceeds will be divided among:
BeStrong Greece: founded in 2007, it is a non-profit organization raising awareness, increasing outreach and facilitates collaboration in an effort to improve the experience of people with cancer.
Medecins Sans Frontieres: is an international humanitarian organization that delivers emergency aid, to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural disasters and exclusion from healthcare. The Greek branch was created in 1990.
Global Kiter Foundation: is a non-profit Foundation empowering and enabling people with physical disabilities to break barriers through sport, and gives underprivileged youth new career opportunities while taking action to keep our environment clean.
