As of 2021, 785 million people do not have access to basic drinking water services i.e. 1 in 10 people, including the 144 million who drink untreated surface water. What does the future of clean water look like? By 2025, around 1.8 billion people would be living in areas plagued by water scarcity, and not only but two-third of the world's population would be living in water-stressed regions. A UN study projects that over 30 nations would be termed water-scarce in 2025, an increase of 10 nations up from 20 in 1990. By 2030, the global middle-class population would surge from 1.8 to 4.9 billion, which would result in a sudden increase in freshwater consumption. By 2050, 1 in 5 developing countries will face a water shortage. *source: seamatrics* Read more about global safe drinking water access to people: https://lnkd.in/gPwFs4Z
