so tonight I searched my mom's doctors name since I wanted to talk to him about my mom and about a career in medicine of some sort. I had only heard good things about him and he made my mom's journey through all this a little bit easier. Little did I know he passed away exactly 6 months after my mom passed. I don't know why I feel so affected by this, I didn't know the man personally, but I guess just because he had helped me through helping my mom's pain be a bit more bearable

Best memory of 2014? wow.. time flew by fast..but hmmm. probably going to europe to visit family after not having seen them for 10 years

One goal for 2015?  Stop being so shy and getting out there in person to meet people

Did you survive finals (if any)? Sadly I did survive, which means I have to do it all over again

School helped me put this shit off for quite a while but now I know some rough days are coming.I still don't want to believe what happened. Just a mini rant...

I personally think that doctors get way too much credit for some things they shouldn't. Yes they help 'diagnose' patients and prescribe you meds all of those sorts of things. Maybe I'm biased because my brother is an engineer. But what I see him make or when I hear him talking with his workers I'm in awe. Doctors are useful yes, but engineers impact the medical world so much more than doctors ever would. They use the CT scans, MRIs, X-rays, sleep apnea devices, etc? But who made those in the first place? Without engineers I feel like doctors would still be using some 'ancient' methods. Engineers should be getting a lot more credit than they are now, with how much they contribute and it's tough schooling.
