( DEEPIKA PADUKONE / 28 / CIS FEM ) → THERE HAS BEEN WHISPERS AROUND THE KEEP THAT ELIA MARTELL, THE PRINCESS OF DORNE HAS BEEN SPOTTED. EVERYONE KNOWS S/HE/THEY CAN BE VERY RESERVED, BUT SOME MAY KNOW THAT S/HE/THEY CAN BE EFFERVESCENT & ROMANTIC. S/HE/THEY HAS/HAVE PLEDGED HER ALLEGIANCE TO HOUSE MARTELL, I WONDER HOW LONG SHE’LL LAST IN THE CAPITAL ?
Elia is the youngest of the Martell children, and the only child of the former ruling prince and his second wife. Although she held nothing but adoration for her elder siblings, she always felt as though she was the odd one out. Not only did Elia have a different mother to her siblings, but she was always far more subdued compared to the rest of them.
While her older siblings seemed to be full of life and energy, elia herself was rather sickly and weak as a child, forced to spend more time indoors looking after her health, alienating her further still from the other Martell children who could always be found out on some adventure. Elia, on the other hand, even as she got older and her health improved, preferred to stick in the background, always found trailing along behind them, trying with everything she had to keep up with them, very much the sidekick for all her family’s mischief.
Don’t be mistaken, even though Elia can tend to be more reserved at times, often preferring to sit back and observe rather than diving in to a situation headfirst, she is not weak. She believes firmly in speaking the truth and fighting for what you believe in and elia cannot be bullied into backing down from an argument.
Despite travelling quite a bit in her younger years and a definite fascination with the culture of in other parts of the world, particularly the northern kingdoms of Westeros, elia is dornish to the core. She is extremely proud of being from dorne, adores all her fellow dornishmen and is endlessly grateful to have been born into what she firmly believes, and wants others to view as, the best kingdom in all the world.
ELIA always made the best of things. sure, she was trapped in a city with a murderer, but at least she was trapped with friends. one of which was nimronyn fowler. nim was all but a sister to elia, the two girls had shared blood from the beginning, but over the years they had come to share so much more, secrets, love, pain. elia was glad that, if she had to be kept away from her home that at least nimronyn was there with her. “jeyne!” she called out when she spotted the little girl racing up and down the corridors. “where’s your mother?”
TEORA may not have been dornish by birth, but the blood of the southern lands flowed in her veins just the same as it did in elia’s, and that was more than enough. chances to spend time with teora were few and far between as she spent far more time in the stormlands than dorne, but elia enjoyed her company nonetheless. she’d been longing to catch up with her ever since she’d learned she was in the capital as well and when elia found a spare moment with no one to keep her company she’d sent word to teora inviting her to share a meal with her. a grin broke forth on the princess’s lips when she saw the familiar figure approach, instantly leaping from her seat to embrace her friend. “teora! i’m so glad you could make it.”
