This made me cry it's so sweet.
So I got this picture from google. What is this? Hummingbird moth! I didn’t even know what one was until I saw one in the wild. I’d never ever seen one before or even heard of one, and boy was I surprised to find a hummingbird flitting about. I was even MORE surprised to see one of these things!
Now, what are hummingbird moths? BUCKLE UP, MOTHERFUCKERS, IT’S NATURE LEARNIN’ TIME.
See that hummingbird beatin’ its wings at like a bajillion miles a minute? Yes? SURPRISE MOTHERFUCKER, it’s a hummingbird moth! Their wings can flap super duper fast, giving them that hummingbird appearance. And their fluffy feathery bodies, of course!
What’s that HUMMING noise? HUMMINGBIRD MOTH! They actually hum! Step aside for this acapella genius!
So the moms lay only one eggs to a couple at a time. Then out come... these bad ass bitches! (See photo 2, please and thank you.)
These things are usually about an inch and a half long, making them about half the size of a hummingbird. But their darting movements and flap-happy wings make them look a lot like hummingbirds!
All in all I don’t have much more info because these cute little shits are scarce in North america and it’s like 2 a.m. and I just wanted to share the love of them.
