It was difficult catching the glowing waves in action (clearly) from the top of a cliff, especially because they were so sporadic and I was using night mode on my phone. Glowing waves and sand

I witnessed this or some form many years ago.

Always wondered what was the "glow" we saw that night at the beach.

Some friends and I took a late night trip to Seal Beach.

It was a trippy adventure from the beginning, Thick fog, empty streets.

We get to the sand and someone starts running or something, and I saw a glowing trail follow my friends foot. 

We were in disbelief, anywhere you touch, wipe, kick, etc... would have a glowing streak following it.

Also there was glowing under the waves as they crashed.

I was amazed and baffled.

Found out that it was Bioluminescent Phytoplankton.
