Movie review cuz why not:
Yesterday I watched Bluegate Crossing (breathe of fresh air in queer cinema)
Its such a beautiful coming of age movie with a not-so common love triangle where girl 1 loves boy, boy loves girl 2 n girl 2 is in love with girl 1. There is no specific hero or villain in the story just three teenagers who are victims of their own feelings..
One thing I love about it is, it feels like we are watching a certain part of someone’s life.. it starts with no static beginning and the ending doesn’t have a conclusion bcs beyond the movie their life still goes on..
Spoilers:
there was this one particular scene in the film that resonated with me lolz where girl 2 confesses to girl 1 that she likes her.. and girl 1 just gets up and leaves and starts ignoring her right away (for context they were best friends). She joins a group of girls playing basketball and girl 2 keeps trying to get her attention but she ignores as if her existence is a mere nuisance while at the same time she stays up every night writing letters to a boy she “loves” but has never even talked to and who will likely reject her. OH the absurdity of human beings and how stupid they are in love..
