aw poor baby.... at least she gets all the snacks she can wish for

Thank you for all the well-wishes!  She’s perked up a lot, but is still not 100%, so I’m going to call the vet to get another round of antibiotics (since I’m giving them via nebulizer, the course of treatment is a lot shorter than for oral antibiotics).

Will she have to be separated from the other budgies?

Fortunately, no!  She’s not contagious--the vet thinks that what is happening is whatever underlying metabolic issue she’s having is just making her react badly to the normal bacteria already present in budgies’ respiratory systems, so she’s no danger to the boys.  The vet even said it might be worse to separate them because it might make her more stressed, so she gets to stay with the boys for now!

THEY IS ALREADY IN COMMON USE IN ENGLISH LIKE WHAT THE FUCK

that was the very grounds on which we got people to start !! using it!! lol I’m not actually fuming but honestly there’s no way I can, in this physical body, express how insanely and utterly bereft of sense it is to say that it’s mean to refer to someone as they if you know their gender.

Thank you!! <3 . It’s so hard watching cats suffer because they are so quiet and stoical and secretive about it, but he’s feeling not too bad today thanks to painkillers that are also  increasing his appetite

gltchbtch As the target audience for the film, I'm wondering what I missed as well. Divorced from the expectation that it be something like Get Out and wanting it to be a real social commentary on what it takes to get ahead in the workplace as a black woman...I didn't have any problems with it. I enjoyed it for what it was.

Yeah, I honestly wonder if that’s a lot it. Like, as if because (as all horror), it has a sociopolitical element, there is an expectation that it has to therefore provide extremely insightful commentary.

I also recall one critic writing that she didn’t like the fact that the women were treated as the villains, though that wasn’t my reading of it at all. The ending to me made it completely obvious that the villain was Dawson Leery (har har) and everything he represented.

thank you!! i am trying to replace massively thick winged eyeliner with blush and tinted lip gloss!! so far it’s going okay and i spend a lot less time trying to get makeup off my face!! also, i love this particular dye. it starts out bright blue and fades to purple and then to a dusty pink. (way better than the blue i used to get that faded to...moss).

i agree. (i say as someone who has had many coping skills for various brain-related things over the years, not all of which have proven to be good for me in the long-term even if they offered some short-term relief from whatever i was suffering!!)

though i also have no desire to argue with anyone anymore. (unless i have to interact with them on an on-going basis and whatever we are arguing about is a problem that will repeat.)

so i am just going to sit over here and be quietly maladaptive in my own non-fandom-related ways and appreciate that i am not alone in thinking this. :)

lol yes that resigned shrug is it exactly. how many times have i been lying in bed, sobbing, while some distant part of my brain observes and says “god just RELAX already”
