Correction...
So starting every week I have to start faxing my blood sugar numbers to my endocrinologist...I'm a bad diabetic mind you...so for the past week I have had some low blood sugars along with some really good ones. So today my endocrinologist called me today to comment on my glucose numbers I had faxed her. In her dialog she said that she still sees some lows and she wants to make some adjustments for me...she also commented on the fact that one night I was at 53 and wondered why I had given myself 8 units of novolog. I told her it was because during that time I was going to eat a huge meal, probably a 100 carbs worth and that I was only correcting what I was going to be eating. She then told me I could only correct or take any insulin if my blood sugar was over 160. To me that doesn't make sense to eat a whole bunch of food and carbs and not take insulin for what I'm consuming considering my blood sugar will most likely go sky high after eating. It makes more sense for me to take insulin for what I'm eating to stabilize my blood sugar after eating rather than correcting a high blood sugar after the fact...I can rule out a high blood sugar completely by doing so. She told me it makes more sense to do as she says. However, it's not like I'm trying to correct a 53 blood sugar, of course that doesn't make sense.....I just don't want to be up and down constantly...I don't want to feel a high blood sugar period...I thought that was the point. I just don't get it!!
