States of Matter

The basic definitions of the four states of matter, three of which will be covered in more detail.

There are four states of matter; solid, liquid, gas, and plasma. The last three would be considered fluids, because these easily flow. The word “fluid” comes from the word “flow”. Artwork by Harco Rutgers. Very first Gluid track. One night in a local bar i met Timon a friend of me. He studied at the art academy and in his opinion the artacademy was too much focused on the visual aspect of art. His plan was to record everyday's sounds and show them the beauty of audio by making music of it. Only he hadn't a musical background or equipment. So i said do it and i wanna make music out of it. The restrictions at that time we're simple and clear; only sounds recorded by microphones will be used. This was the very first result of that. At that time i only got my equipment(akai s2000 sampler& an atari 1040st computer) for a few months and i just found out i could actually sample in stereo. This was made more than 10 years ago and released on the first Gluid album in 2006 by escrec(www.escrec.com) the reason that it took that long was that i never expected anyone would listen and like this. Track from the first Gluid album made in 2002 released in 2006 by escrec(www.escrec.com)For this album i only used fieldrecordings or sounds recorded by microphones. In this track the main ingredients were ofcourse the burning ashtray; and the chords were made by pointing a microphone on several distances at the speakers(yeah feedback) the burning ashtray sounds i created by filling the ashtray with ash ( i smoke a lot) and an awful lot of chewed chewing gums. Set it on fire and you've got some great crackling noises. So you can try it at home be sure you've got a glass of water nearby to extinguish Artwork by Harco Rutgers

Music was originally written for the theatre-piece based on the book by Franz Kafka. Finally after months of waiting for the final masters( My buddy René de Wilde, who masters my shit, has had a surgery due to a back-hernia and i had to wait till he was recovered) But now he has and i am pretty satisfied about the final masters .. so....This is the complete Ep in the right order.. produced by Bram van den Oever mastered by René de Wilde.
