Savor the flavorful combination of garlic and pepper in this tofu recipe that is both vegan and gluten-free. Before being baked to perfection, the tofu is marinated in a flavorful mixture, giving it crispy outside and tender insides.
Ingredients: 1 block extra firm tofu, pressed and cubed. 2 tablespoons soy sauce or tamari. 1 tablespoon olive oil. 4 cloves garlic, minced. 1 teaspoon ground black pepper. 1 tablespoon maple syrup. 1 tablespoon rice vinegar. 2 green onions, thinly sliced. 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, for garnish.
Instructions: Preheat oven to 400F 200C. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, olive oil, minced garlic, black pepper, maple syrup, and rice vinegar. Add cubed tofu to the bowl and gently toss to coat evenly. Spread tofu on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until tofu is golden and crispy. Once done, sprinkle with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
