What a great day at the Texas Capitol today protecting and defending the rights of property owners in our great state! I was blessed to be able to meet with each of these great men on our position of SUPPORTING SB421/HB 991 which provides property owners who are subject to eminent domain by a private entity with additional protections, including notice and public hearing requirements and SB 552/HB 1245 which adds land owner protection during surveys for purposes of eminent domain. SUPPORT SB 6, SB 7, SB 8, SB 1322/SJR 49, SB 1722/SJR 57& HB 443/HJR 142, HB 5, HB 6, and HB 7 which all help in disaster relief throughout our State. SUPPORT SB 2/HB2 to enhance transparency in the property tax system and provide voters a voice when local governments set the tax rates that determine Texan’s property tax bills. We also talked about the importance of opposing mandatory sales price disclosure and why we oppose the efforts to weaken equal and uniform appraisal protections. So we OPPOSE HB 185, HB 1036, HB 3493, HB 1816, and SB 853. We also spoke in SUPPORT of SB 474/HB 1254 because Texas REALTORS®️ supports eliminating the Tax Code that prevents a property owner from using agricultural land as collateral in a home equity loan. Being a Board of Director member for @teachforamerica I also know that the subject of education and the funding of it is very important. For that reason, and being a mom of two wonderful boys, we support strong schools as a factor in attracting property owners and believe the State should further invest in students AND EDUCATORS by supporting SB 4 and HB 3. #realtorday #txrealtors #gmarorg #itswhoweR (at Texas State Capitol) https://www.instagram.com/p/BvfGlpWheX6/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=ylez0ooggheh
