Oh god.
Youngkwang entered the library with little effort of remembering the endless hours he used to spend everywhere else but here. The musty aromas of different time periods never mixed well together, no matter how much Febreeze the old librarian used to spray it would still smell worse than the danger room on a hot summer's day.
The Institute's library wasn't exactly a hell-hole, but it was rather a lonely place. Some kids used to say books were good enough for company, others would mention that they like the peace and the ability to be accompanied by the sound of book spines creaking and a single stamp pushing down on nimble pages.
One deep breath was all it took and Youngkwang was already falling back in his teenage days. He had learned a lot here, no doubt. If it weren't for the institute — who knows what would have happened then.
"Ahjumma?" He quietly called, knowing that after four years of visiting the librarian on a daily basis, she should recognize him. Again, he didn't come often for books. It was usually for this librarian, a mother-like figure that he had never gotten to see again after leaving the institute. Youngkwang looked around to look among the heads of students, he made eye contact with a few only to then look away as he felt out of place. He headed to the front desk to see a young girl pop out from the doorway.
At first he thought she was a student, he would have asked if she knew where the old lady was until he saw her name tag that read: Librarian.
