BBIMG: thought the ‘Jean being Jacob dad’ headcanon sounds pretty interesting to me. Well I mean, they actually do look related…well to me atleast. Lets make headcanons abt the headcanon!

Jean’s wife(I’m gonna call her ‘Agnes’)died after giving birth to Jacob.
Because of her death, Jean could not look out for baby Jacob alone—because he is still in the french army, so Jean’s parents are the ones who raised lil Jacob.
He visits Jacob every time he is off/on vacation. Even visiting his wife’s grave.
After meeting his son, Jean’s colleagues often tease on how similar he and Jacob are.
He is pretty hard on himself, and struggles with coping.
He and Jacob are smart idiots(like father like son:) ).
Jean still sees Jacob as a baby bc yes.
Although Jacob and he are mostly apart due to his job being a soldier/officer in the french army. So when his son joined, he makes sure to stick to him as he could, why?—
He sees Jacob as whats left of his wife.

lil Jacob loves his grandparents very much, but he felt a lil more closer towards his grandma. He loves baking with her, playing with her, and enjoy being her greatest yap buddy.
The reason Jacob is a sapper is because of his grandpa. His grandpa runs a toy shop, and does woodwork. Jacob used to watch his grandpa make stuff and carry his tools. This inspired Jacob to make random stuff in his own.
Well yeah, Jean did visit his son for sometime, but throughout Jacob’s whole entire life—they mostly interact through letters.
Lil Jacob used to play soldiers with his dad using grandpa’s toys/stuff.
“Father! I’m a man now, I’m not a boy anymore! Why can’t you see that? Come on, I’m like…20 years old! And I can build stuff!!”
“DAD, STOP EMBARRASSING ME>:(!!!!”
Nonetheless, they have a pretty good relationship.
