Thinking about Nancy’s dad saying something stupid about it so Nancy decides to full on buzz her head in an act of rebellion. Robin helps her and Nancy is shocked at how good it feels. Robin stares for the longest moment before calling them handsome and they both tear up about it

Nancy usually does Robin’s ties in the morning, but one morning Robin calls her over and slips one over her head instead, tying it with gentle hands and so much care that Nancy about cries about it. They start tying each other’s ties from then on

Helping each other with haircuts and sharing clothes. Robin still loves the days when Nancy dresses feminine, but it’s a whole new kind of fondness to see Nancy draped in one of Robin’s oversized button ups

nancy likes stealing robin's clothes so it's no surprise when she throws on one of her button ups for the day but something about this particular one felt different

she had never payed attention to how she looked in robin's dress shirts, just that they were her girlfriend's. but that day nancy couldn't help but notice the way the cut made her slim shoulders look broad as she rolled up the sleeves like robin usually did. turning to see herself in the mirror she was shocked to see just how-

just how handsome the shirt made her look

her eyes widened as the word popped into her head, but she didn't feel ashamed or fearful of the feeling that it had sparked in her. it was new and different and she loved it

fastening the last few buttons, she looked at herself in the mirror once again. she tentatively pulled her hair back behind her head, a smile making its way onto her face at the way it emphasized her jaw

she reached for her bag on the desk next to her, pulling a makeup wipe from it and quickly wiping her face clean. the reflection staring back at her brightened the already beaming smile on her face and brought tears to her eyes

robin walked into the room not too long afterwards, blushing when she saw nancy in her shirt. "hey, pretty girl"

nancy smiled in return but didn't meet her eyes, hesitant to ask the question clawing at her chest. "could you... could you use the other word for me? the one that i call you sometimes?"

robin raised a confused eyebrow "baby?"

"no like..." nancy took a deep breath. "handsome"

"you want me to call you handsome?"

"is that okay?"

there was a moment of hesitation. nancy's fears tore straight to her heart as she watched robin process her request

"more than okay, babe." robin smiled, a gentle and knowing look. "because, wow, you really do look handsome wearing that"

worries lifted from her shoulders and a newfound brightness grew in her chest. nancy blushed at the way the word sounded rolling off of robin's tongue. "you think so?"

"i know so, nance. i'm so lucky to have such a handsome fella like you because you are b-b-bonkers hot. especially when you have your hair up like that"

she rolled her eyes at robin's playfulness but leaned into her shoulder, feeling happier and freer than she could ever remember

okay wait hold on more gnc!ronance thoughts, specifically with their physical builds and body hair:

like nancy is athletic after years of dealing with monsters - from both in her world and beyond it - toned legs and defined stomach and arms that are built more dexterously than brute strength. muscular shoulders from years of taking shotgun recoil. he doesn’t have too much hair on his chest/torso (yet), but her arms and legs do have some fuzz that she’s growing out after years of shaving it down

and then there’s robin, who never really worked out, but just did so much manual labor that their body naturally adapted. broad shoulders and arms thick with heavier muscles along with a soft tummy. lots of hair on their arms and legs, plus a prominent happy trail. also some baby scruff along her jawline that he loves to scratch against nancy’s face bc it tickles and makes them laugh

just them making it very clear to the other that they love and support them. robin praising nancy for letting their hair grow out, something their family never did. or nancy taking robins face in his hands and reassuring them that no matter what pronouns they want to use, he’s gonna love each and every one
