Sometimes cis people are weird about gender to the point it feels like parody.
I intentionally went to a barber geared specifically towards men, put into the appointment details that I wanted a specific "men's cut" and talked with the barber throughout and laugh about how yeah I know this is like a generic men's cut, he does a hundred of these a day. I tell him that's why I came to his place, because I knew he'd be able to do it better than the place I used to go when I had long hair. The lady there always tries to give me a more feminine pixie cut instead of what I actually want. He nods along, no big issues (other than him being weird about my mask but that's a whole other post). But then we get to the end of the haircut, he's fixing up the last little bits, and he starts tapering shit weird, angling sideburns and shaping the back to "make it look more feminine" like...bro. We talked extensively about this. What are you even doing. Why
