Burning Alms are Now With Us

We’ve put the kettle on and would like to announce with some un-British excitement that the London-based trio Burning Alms are now with us. Thomas Whitfield, Sebastian Lenton, and John Biggs, formerly of Calories and Distophia, are putting finishing touches to the follow up of their critically acclaimed debut In Sequence (Smalltown America, 2014).

Their new album titled Afternoon Sass is scheduled to be released in May. The above-mentioned enigmatic individuals recorded it during a bleak English winter with recording engineer and long-term collaborator Tom Livemore. The resulting recording fuses punk noise and lo-fi pop with ornate jazz flourishes, garnished with the occasional Derek Bailey-esque skronk.
