Nature's art. A bird's eye view of the ocean and beach at North Point on #Gnoorganbin (#MoretonIsland). Happy Friday to you! To give you some perspective, can you see our car? There are two cars parked on the beach (ours is down the bottom of the picture). The black swirls in the water are actually some type of sea weed being pushed around in the currents (I was reliably informed by a keen surfer who paddled out to investigate for me). Waves crashing upon the rocks of the Cape Cliffs. Oh how I will miss their soothing sound and relentless energy. I have spent the weekend packing one final load and cleaning our lighthouse home. On my way to the ferry this afternoon I made the time to stop and enjoy a swim on the eastern beach. And I took a moment to thank this beautiful island for giving us five wonderful years and a lifetime of memories. A most special place. The waters surrounding #Gnoorganbin (#MoretonIsland) are home to an incredible array of marine life. Dugongs and turtles frequent the sea grasses that flank the western side of the island (#MoretonBay). If you're visiting by boat or jetski then familiarise yourself with the 'go slow' zones near the island. Boat strikes are a significant factor in dugong and turtle fatalities in the bay (believe me, I've spent five years responding to marine standings on the island and filing the reports). The sparkling clear ocean waters off #MoretonIsland near #Brisbane. One of the many untouched beaches at the northern tip of the island. This is Quandamooka country.
