OPI - Unripened
Today I have the best color from the OPI mini collection, Go Goth (2010)... Unripened! Yay!
Unripened is a black base, with tiny teal/blue glitter. Its such a pretty polish and perfect for the fall. Like I said, this is the best color in the Go Goth Collection. If you like wearing dark polish and glitter polish, then you will love this color.
Unripened is a close dupe for Nicole by OPI's Blues In The Night.
For the photos below, I used two coats.
I wish OPI would have sold a regular size bottle of this, not just the mini. I love the color. My photos don't do it justice. Its so pretty and the glitter looks phenomenal! OPI nailed it with Unripened.
OPI - Obscurity
Obscurity is from last years OPI Ulta exclusive mini collection, called, Go Goth! OPI really nailed it with this color. Its perfect.
Obscurity is awesome! Its a flat, matte black. It dries quick and I have no complaints. If you don't use a topcoat, it will chip fairly quickly; like within an hour. If you have matte topcoat, I suggest using it, or even a gloss topcoat, but that defeats the whole purpose of a matte polish. It covers nicely and dries quick.
For the photos below, I used two coats of Obscurity.
To be honest, OPI Obscurity is just like an other black creme polish, except its matte. You could go to the drug store right now and buy any random black, then use a matte topcoat. Woala! You have Obscurity. Its a cute black, but thats about it.
OPI - Sanguine
Last year, OPI had the Go Goth Collection. There were 4 mini bottles, including Sanguine. As also, OPI tricked us once again. Sanguine literally is the color Royal Rajah Ruby (India Collection 2008). Both are NL I52. I hate when OPI re-releases colors, with different names.
Sanguine/Royal Rajah Ruby is a great vampy red. The color is dark like red wine, with a shimmer. I like the color very much. Its a perfect fall/winter red. he formula was great.
For the photos below, I used two coats of polish.
Both OPI Sanguine and Royal Rajah Ruby are discontinued colors. If you find the polish in stores, I suggest buying it. You won't be let down. Its a great red for this years fall and winter seasons.
OPI - Nevermore
Today is the first official day The Nail Files is celebrating 31 Days of Halloween. Everyday this month, I will be reviewing Halloween collections (past and present), with occasional nail art and polishes that fit the spook-tacular theme. I am very excited and I hope you enjoy this as much as me!
For day one, I chose Nevermore, from OPI. Nevermore was a mini found in last years Go Goth! Collection, which was an Ulta exclusive. I was super excited when I bought this collection. Nevermore is gorgeous, however… it is actually OPI Ink with a different name. Not joking. Both are NLB61. Now thats scary!
Nevermore is a blurple… blue/purple. Its a purple base, with purple, blue and pink shimmer. You can see the pink in the bottle and if your in sunlight, but its very subtle. Mostly your nails will look royal purple, however my camera only picked up the blue. Its a great color. Its shimmers and shines just right. Its a perfect purple for fall.
For the photos below, I used three coats of polish. I apologize for the dark photos. It was raining and I couldn't get good light.
I'm pretty sure everyone has tried OPI Ink at least once. But thats the thing.. Nevermore is literally OPI Ink. I'm actually disappointed that OPI tried to pull a fast one and deceive us. Not cool. But the Go Goth! Collection is super cute and nonetheless, Nevermore is a pretty color, not only for the fall, but can be worn all year. Nevermore aka OPI Ink is part of the permanent collection and can be found at your nearest OPI retailer.
