Hi love :) I just wanted to ask, did you draw your icon, or did you use some sort of a website or something? It´s gorgeous! xx
alackofghosts, who is absolutely lovely and a dear friend, drew it for me. It's so beautiful, I love it :3 (I've also written this on my blog in my description btw)

THIS WOULD BE IT
Hello love :) I love your metas and generaly your way of looking into a subject! I was wondering, when writing about a psychology-related subject, how much do you need to look up names and theories and how much is it all straight from memory? Because I´m the same age and I also study psychology, but there´s no way I´d remember how different authors describe empathy etc.... So I was just wandering, am I being a lazy student or are you a very dedicated blogger? :) Thanks! :*
Ha. Hahahha. No, I’m total rubbish at remembering names of authors and important people and dates. Nuances, I am excellent with, but details? Especially details which do not change the information you which to convey? I kind of suck.
For the post on empathy, I did search the PsychInfo database to see what the most recent literature said about different types of empathy. I certainly didn’t just know and remember the names and dates of studies off the top of my head! Same with the psychopathy/sociopathy post (although I had done the research previously for a poster), and any post where I have included citations. I’m never as thorough as I would be for an academic piece, but I want to be able to back up what I say if ever am called on it. That’s why “peer-reviewed" journals work well. You have to do your research or risk looking like a fool.
That said, I’m usually good with remembering theories and the results of studies. It’s not that I’m a good student; I just find them easy to remember. I could have written that empathy post without researching it because I remembered reading about it in undergrad, but it feels negligent not to include sources when I’m writing about facts rather than interpretations.
So I’d probably go with “dedicated blogger." I think I’ve done some kind of research for almost every meta-like thing I’ve posted here and certainly for the pscyh-related ones. I’m pretty sure I put more care into constructing metas than I do for my own schoolwork!
