i have been talking and thinking a lot about how Vesseek must have felt, arriving back 18 months later with a dead partner and a clutch lost in the middle of europe
and i never really thought too much about how the kids must have felt?
there is such a small chance that they're not infected as they're living in the middle of Europe, in the thick of it all but it must have been so scary...
with Grizzop they at least knew what happened, he had said goodbye and that he must go on a big mission but he will write, and he did!!
but Vesseek just... vanished, one day they left the house and never returned
and the kids were all alone, waiting for a parent that wasn't coming back, a parent that didnt even know how much time they were missing
and then the riots escalated
Grizzop sent the money to them in Berlin, they live in a big city full of people, the chaos they must have lived through
meanwhile they were still alone, scared, hungry and full of fear, their nights are full of nightmares and no parent to. comfort them, but at least they have each other right?
at least until things start going even more wrong
one day one of them comes home and is... off?
maybe they went to try and get help at the temple, because thats what dad always said! trust in Artemis!
but the people there were stressed, and overworked, maybe the desk person hasn't met grizzop and wasn't just going to help some stray goblin, maybe they wanted to help and send them home with a promise
doesn't really matter because on the way back they walked into a group of rioters, rioters with these really intense veins showing through their skin
when they come home, they still care, but their emotions are cold and they're not scared anymore, they dont even call for their parents in the middle of the night
and one after the other they start getting colder, memories still there but no emotional connection to them
when the last ones realize that this isnt normal it is already too late
but you know, at least they're not alone anymore.
