With all due respect, Joyce needed an editor. Whimsy in his books is great, but please let us be arses about the big lore stuff.
The end of Sanderson's book:
"For the first time, the boy who never slept [Nightlight] finally did."
Meanwhile all throughout black pages of Sanderson sharing a dream with Santoff Claussen, Nightlight sleeps just like everybody else. He goes to sleep with everyone.
"Then everyone, right down to Bear, fell into a deep, restful sleep."
And he's described to stand up upon waking up. Implying he was lying before.
To top it off, it's an explicit "Nightlight rule" in the Jack Frost book that Nightlight shouldn't be able to sleep, not before the kiss anyway.
We love these books, but these kinds of things are tiring.
