Hi there! Loving God of the Red Mountain! I am a bit curious about the descriptions of what kind of spirit we are. Will the selection affect what kind of powers we have if we decide to become a god (like Owls being the harbringers of death in superstition so Owl!MC is a god of death)? Also where did the humans get the superstitions/beliefs of certain plants/animals?

As for your first question, your spirit choice will not effect what kind of god you become. That will be dependent on MC’s actions and motivations, which will be explored more thoroughly before the ascension. However, there will be some flavor text involving your spirit type when you’re a god~
As for about the superstitions/beliefs, this is all a mix of things that I’ve been influenced with myself. Some of these beliefs come from what I’ve heard my parents/grandparents tell me (Snakes, Ginseng, Rabbit, etc.) and some of them I’ve accumulated through media or school.
If you’re asking about where the humans get the superstitions from a narrative standpoint, then I’d say, the same way that humans do in our world! They notice patterns of certain plants or certain animals behaving in specific ways, and so, they tie meanings to those respective plants/animals. These beliefs can also come about due to the dreams of powerful individuals, due to certain shifts of political power (and thereby a shift in cultural influence), etc. I’m not a good history buff though, so I’m not very good at explaining that kind of thing, haha...
Follow up: how powerful would the MC be if they ascended into godhood? And how big would their realm be? Also, sorry for pestering you.

As for how powerful the MC would be? I think it would be one of two options. They were ascend to become the third leader of the gods (alongside their mate)... or they would become a powerful god that is under Phenir's jurisdiction. If that makes any sense at all 😅
Depending on which one it is also stipulates how big the realm would be. If they become a holy trinity then it would be a large realm, but if they were under Phenir's jurisdiction then it would be medium to small.
